Given the many adverse health outcomes associated with depression, it is imperative to promote help-seeking behaviors. However, in Lesotho, there are no published studies that have investigated dynamics for depression. As such, following questions remain unanswered: (a) What proportion of people living depression Lesotho seek help? (b) Are significant sex differences factors depression? To address these questions, we examined prevalence and Lesotho. Secondary data from 2023–2024 demographic survey was used. We sampled 2172 men 1484 women. Binary logistic regression models were fitted STATA 18. Statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Overall, women who sought help slightly higher (17.1% [14.4–20.3]) compared (16.4% [14.3–18.8]). More (43.6%) formal providers than men. Likewise, more half male participants (60%) informal sources. Among men, those moderate had significantly odds seeking (AOR = 2.02, 95%CI: 1.56–2.61). Help-seeking also likely among secondary education 1.98, 1.13–3.47), currently a union 1.85, 1.41–2.42) or previously 2.30, 1.54–3.45), richest wealth index 1.64, 1.06–2.53). women, 2.41, 1.76–3.32) severe 3.42, 2.26–5.18) increased likelihood. Women aged 45–59 years 2.46, 1.36–4.45), exposed media 1.63, 1.21–2.19), consuming alcohol 1.36, 1.01–1.84) help. low differ by sex. leveraging could yield effective outcomes; addressing poverty improving prove The study underscores need focus on harnessing potential support networks.
