Background and aims This study explored the psychological mechanisms linking work addiction to poor physical health among full-time employees. The proposed serial multiple mediation model suggests that depletes employees’ ability regulate emotions, leading addictive eating as a coping mechanism, which creates vicious cycle severely impairs health. Methods sample consisted of 1,233 employees (aged 25–65 years) in United States, who completed an online survey assessing addiction, emotion regulation deficits, eating, functioning. Results Among all participants, rates were 13.1% for food 9.7% 3.5% co-occurrence addiction. Compared men, women reported higher rate but similar both genders. was tested using bootstrapping analysis, findings supported model. indirect effect on health, mediated first by emotional dysregulation then significant. Although direct reduced when accounting mediators, it remained results also indicated gender did not significantly moderate these relationships, showing consistent across men women.
