This study explores the psychological motivations, emotional experiences, and behavioral feedback of contemporary Chinese youth participating in short-term monasticism. Despite rising popularity these practices as a means stress relief spiritual exploration, limited research has addressed their socio-cultural implications context modern society. Data were collected from Zhihu, leading online Q&A community China, using Python web crawler technology. Relevant discussions comments systematically selected based on predefined criteria. The qualitative data analyzed NVivo software, with grounded theory guiding open, axial, selective coding processes to identify key themes categories. analysis revealed that monasticism functions both mechanism catalyst for growth value formation. Key identified include pursuit inner peace, self-improvement, deepened engagement traditional culture. Participants reported enhanced regulation, self-reflection, an increased appreciation cultural heritage. findings provide new insights into role monastic addressing mental health challenges fostering personal development among youth. These results underscore potential integrating interventions, offering holistic approach enhancing well-being. Future should explore long-term effects examine applicability across different contexts.
