Lattice structures, with their exceptional characteristics such as high specific strength and stiffness, thermal insulation, biocompatibility, find a wide range of applications including bio-medical, thermal, automobile aerospace industry. This study explores potential for energy research, provides an overview Periodic lattice structure (PLS) design fabrication, classifies them based on function. It aims to provide insights into the applications, advancements, challenges, future directions related PLS implementation in research. The categorized recent advances challenges using conversion, storage, transport examines limitations associated them. include problems design, reproducibility, sample sizes, multi-physics phenomena, integration other storage components, interdisciplinary manufacturing accuracy, durability, scalability, economic feasibility. Future research are suggested address these opportunities, evaluating performance broader scale, developing accurate modeling techniques, investigating underlying mechanisms, utilizing tools, examining long-term performance, exploring practical alternative fabrication methods.
