Abstract Interactive, constructive, active and passive technology scale (ICAP-TS) is a relatively new developed instrument representing an essential literature need. Through this cross-cultural study, we strived to accomplish three-fold aim. Firstly, aspired verify the scale's construct validity reliability on large sample of teachers across seven European countries. Secondly, aimed evaluate quality integration (TI) heterogeneous with ICAP-TS explore for which learning activities use technologies, within ICAP learning/engaging modes how often. Thirdly, examine relationships between different types (TT) TI in modes. The research involved 2277 primary lower secondary school teachers. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that internal structure corresponds well overall sample, but some countries, model fit should be further refined. Exploratory extracted two basic components TT— . On general level most often integrate into mode usage TT, if these results are observed each country separately, not case everywhere. Passive TT predicts passive, active, constructive more, while interactive, This study has several implications. For example future topics can include reviewing, revising, or adding items related theory improve its validity. Other recommendations stated discussion.

Technology-enhanced teaching (TET) is most effective when integrated meaningfully into classroom settings. Teachers require technological pedagogical knowledge (TPK) to achieve this integration. This study details the development and evaluation of an online professional (OPD) course aimed at enhancing teachers’ TPK for use technology in science language subjects. The was created rethink OPD, i.e., overcome known shortcomings OPD design consciously. It based on Interactive–Constructive–Active–Passive (ICAP) framework, which promotes interactive constructive learning activities. Thus, incorporated text-based video-based modules (learning nuggets), discussions about staged video vignettes showing situations with conventional vs. good by teacher, communities, practical trials group reflections. followed a pre–post involving 76 in-service teachers. Participants completed surveys test their ability apply ICAP before after OPD. revealed that teachers perceived as beneficial, though no statistically significant improvement applied observed. These findings highlight opportunities challenges designing measuring OPDs support meaningful integration practice.

Abstract Previous research has shown that students’ interest typically declines across secondary school, likely resulting from a mismatch between their needs and the school environment. Technology-enhanced adaptive teaching may allow teachers to better tailor instruction needs, including interests; thus, this approach be promising in regard. The objective of study was gain insight into associations equipping students with tablet computers (1:1 technology), student-perceived teaching, students' situational interest. We used questionnaire data (i.e., two measurement points: t0 = baseline; t1 4 months later) longitudinal project tabletBW meets science 2,601 (Grade 7, Gymnasium, Germany) attending 28 schools. Fourteen schools were randomly chosen given 1:1 technology for students; intervention condition). other 14 not such equipment (control assessed how mathematics associated use (intervention vs. control) teaching. Results multilevel models showed had statistically significant effect on interest, partly mediated by Moreover, knowing math adolescence, our results indicate classrooms might offer way implement more lessons have potential provide appropriate degree challenge thus spark mathematics.
