Leakage accident occurred during the operation of a buried valve blowdown pipe in natural gas station. After macroscopic morphology, mechanical properties, chemical composition, metallography, scanning electron microscopy and energy spectrum analysis leaking pipe, it was found that corrosion perforation located outer wall damage layer caused components saline soil to contact steel produce oxygen corrosion. In addition, Cl – ions played role accelerating corrosion, which eventually led occurrence accidents.
