Abstract This paper explores the impact of International Entrepreneurial Orientation (IEO) on international performance Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), with a focus post-COVID-19 era. IEO, treated as subdimension entrepreneurial orientation, is crucial for SMEs in global markets, especially given challenges posed by pandemic. Abstract In the digital era, organizations strategically adopt transformation to thrive and prosper. particular, they allocate substantial resources cultivate orientation. However, limited research has explored how orientation impacts performance of small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Our study sheds light on this relationship, examining it through lens a resource-based view (RBV) dynamic capability (DC) perspective. Sustainable digital transformation in SMEs not only simplifies operations and increases efficiency but also fosters innovation, facilitates data-driven decision-making, minimizes negative environmental social impacts, paving the way for a sustainable competitive advantage age. However, still face significant barriers to implementing this transformation. In addition limited financial resources, critical obstacle is lack of specific comprehensible roadmaps. Thus, paper aims analyze existing roadmaps SMEs. A systematic literature review was conducted using PRISMA Methodi Ordinatio methods, with data collection analysis performed NVivo 12 VOSviewer software (version 1.6.20). Content used assess how these papers align study’s context. Digital transformation (DT) is crucial for SMEs to streamline operational efficiency, foster innovation, and meet upcoming challenges. Integrating sustainability into this process not only enhances a company’s reputation but also attracts customers investors who value environmental responsibility. Despite opportunity, many operate without clear plans strategies. The literature review identified lack of roadmaps that integrate the digital SMEs. Thus, paper aims propose sustainable roadmap evaluates their maturity facilitates gradual implementation in alignment with strategic objectives. The role of digitalization for business performance has attracted significant research interest. While many studies have advanced the literature with insights on digital tools and strategies, what is less well understood human factor in this process. objective study to assess element small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Theoretically, we draw sociotechnical theory dynamic capabilities underline importance integrating technology aspects enhancing SME performance. Empirically, use a representative dataset 1,000 Bulgarian SMEs perform structural equations modeling.
