Background: Sleep is an essential event that effects quality of life and hormonal balance in human body. The association between sleep diabetes bi-directional. Methods: This study was conducted with a case control design the Department Medicine Combined Military Hospital Peshawar June 2022 to November 2022. Results: . Mean age population 51.1±12.94 years 46% females 54% males. Majority educated up matriculation BMI normal (18.5-24.9 kg/m2) range. There no statistical difference demographic data amongst diabetic group Avg HbA1c 8.546% ± 1.57% 5.712% 0.49% group. As per PSQI questionnaire 47 (47%) participants were good sleeper across population, which included 17 out 50 (34%) individuals 30 (60%) equated statistically significant two p value 0.007. A (p = 0.001) also seen score groups (9.40 5.82 vs 5.98 4.85 respectively). Diabetics had 2.9 times odds (95% confidence interval 1.29-6.57, 0.01) having bad as compared controls. In majority males matriculate medium adherence treated both oral hypoglycemic drugs insulin 3 or more comorbid condition hypertension being most prevalent single disease. Conclusion: By strict glycemic diabetics we can imove their Interventions improve hygiene be suggested patients by educators part self-management education programs.

Introduction/Aim: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) challenges glycemic control, with sleep disturbances affecting insulin sensitivity and glucose variability. This study aimed to observe quality in T1D patients outcomes, particularly at bedtime hours. Methods: retrospective observational study, conducted an Italian clinical center, included using Medtronic devices. Sleep was assessed the version of Pittsburgh Quality Index (PSQI), outcomes were analyzed CGM data. Descriptive statistics non-parametric tests applied for statistical comparisons. Results: Of 45 patients, four excluded, leaving 41 analysis. The mean PSQI score 6.0 ± 4.1, 36.6% showing poor quality. No significant differences age, sex, BMI, or duration found. Poor sleepers had a higher time above range level 2 (TAR2) (6.3 6.2%) compared good (4.1 5.0%). During hours, showed significantly TAR2 (6.7 7.2% vs. 3.3 6.2%, p = 0.013). Conclusions: is associated increased nocturnal hyperglycemia patients. Enhancing may contribute improved during nighttime. Future research should explore targeted interventions care, specific lifestyle-based healthcare programs are recommended optimize outcomes.

To analyze sleep quality and its relationships with clinical biochemical features in a large cohort of adults autoimmune diabetes. We administered to 553 patients diabetes the questionnaires: Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), distress scale, diabetes-related life treatment satisfaction questionnaire. We excluded missing HbA1c ± 4 months from PSQI administration or incorrect compilation (n = 110).Altered was recorded 142/443 subjects (32%), insufficient total time 177/443 (40%). The altered group had higher (median 56 mmol/mol [interquartile range-IQR 49-62] vs 59 [IQR 52-68]; P < 0.001), average previous 36 (59 54-68] 51-62]; more individuals > 53 (74.6% 62.8%; 0.014). Diabetes duration (P 0.63), type insulin delivery 0.48) glucose monitoring 0.35) were uninfluential. Patients showed prevalence (42 28%; 0.005) mental diseases (12 4%; 0.002); there greater emotional distress, lower 0.001 for all), irrespective sex. Men diseases. Women psychiatric disorders. Average months, disorders independent predictive factors quality.One-third quality, which associates worse glycemic control, disorders, sex-specific differences.

Abstract Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in persons with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Despite control known cardiovascular (CV) risk factors better glycemic management, T1D still face heightened CVD risk, suggesting additional contributing factors. Sleep has recently been recognized as CV factor; however; the role sleep specifically population only started to emerge. Extensive evidence suggests that often encounter disturbances. This review aims comprehensively explore relationship between disturbances T1D, proposed possible mediators including control, which studied more extensively, less such blood pressure, lipid metabolism, weight management. Stress self-care behaviors likely also play CVD. The regarding interventions context mitigating these shown early, small-scale studies. assessments should be part standard care T1D. Further research focus on understanding impact mechanistic pathways developing T1D-specific reduce burden this population.

Abstract In the century since discovery of insulin, diabetes has changed from an early death sentence to a manageable chronic disease. This change in longevity and duration coupled with significant advances therapeutic options for patients fundamentally landscape management, particularly type 1 mellitus. However, hypoglycemia remains major barrier achieving optimal glycemic control. Current understanding mechanisms expanded include not only counter‐regulatory hormonal responses but also direct changes brain glucose, fuel sensing, utilization, as well neural networks that modulate behavior, mood, cognition. Different strategies prevent treat have been developed, including educational strategies, new insulin formulations, delivery devices, novel technologies, pharmacologic targets. review article will discuss current literature contributing our myriad factors lead development clinically meaningful established therapies prevention treatment hypoglycemia.

Abstract Background Hepatic glycogen storage diseases (GSDs) are characterised by enzyme defects affecting liver metabolism, where carbohydrate supplementation to prevent overnight hypoglycaemia is common. Concerns around sleep quality in hepatic GSDs relate emerging evidence that dysglycaemia impacts quality. Methods This prospective observational study reported and duration children with over 7 days utilising: actigraphy (Actiwatch 2 Phillips Respironics), diaries, proxy age‐appropriate quality‐of‐life (QoL) questionnaires, the context of nocturnal glycaemic profiles continuous glucose monitor (CGM, Dexcom G6) dietary management strategies. Significant hypo‐ hyperglycaemia were defined as ≥1% diary documented period, recording <3.5 >10.0 mmol/L, respectively. Results Seven GSD (aged 1–17 years) participated. Objective was poor, demonstrating no child achieved minimum recommended for age. Subjective also 4/5 documenting significant daytime sleepiness 6/6 reporting poor hygiene. Children prescribed bolus feeds (OBF) ( n = 2) recorded shorter compared other Parent‐reported QoL suggested disease‐related outcomes this cohort. Conclusion subjective disturbances reduced common within our sample GSD. From observations these may be linked nutritional interventions, especially OBFs, rather than levels. Summary We investigated whether sleep health (each individual dimension and a composite measure) was associated with better glycaemia among cohort of young adults type 1 diabetes (mean age 21.5 years, mean body mass index 24.55 kg m −2 ). Multiple validated self‐report questionnaires were completed, raw continuous glucose monitor data shared. One self‐reported characteristic for each the five dimensions selected. A score calculated by summing number “good” dimensions. evaluated associations between glycaemia, covariates, including age, duration apnea risk, influenced relationships study variables using multivariable linear regression. Individual satisfaction ( β = 0.380, p 0.019; −0.414, 0.010), timing 0.392, 0.015; −0.393, 0.015) efficiency 0.428, 0.007) higher achievement glycaemic targets (J‐index time in range); however, these did not persist after considering covariates. Sleep Health Composite even Using multidimensional framework can guide future research on causal pathways health, interventions to target profiles, may improve screening routine care.
