Evidence is limited regarding the relationship between sleep factors (self-reported disorder diagnosis, subjective difficulties, and duration), patterns, risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). Thus, this study aims to investigate factors, T2D using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). A total 14,652 individuals aged ≥18 years NHANES (2005-2014) were enrolled with complete on T2D, covariates. Information self-reported duration was collected during in-home visits by trained interviewers Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing system. The pattern derived scoring three mentioned factors: no 7-9 h classified as low-risk (score 0), while presence or <7 >9 high-risk 1). Cumulative scores range 0 3, indicating a healthy pattern, 1 an intermediate 2-3 poor respectively. Weighted logistic regression conducted assess association patterns T2D. Self-reported diagnosis (odds ratio (OR) = 1.32, P 0.01), difficulties (OR 1.29, 0.001), deprivation (<7 h; OR 1.20, 0.01) significantly positive Poor also increased 1.52, < 0.0001). Moreover, subgroup analyses stratified age BMI (body mass index) further confirmed that consistent robust across groups. Our findings indicate poorer are associated These results emphasize importance management in prevention. Further prospective studies needed causal bidirectional risk, well underlying molecular mechanisms.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) represents a huge burden on the health system. This study aimed to investigate association between MetS and certain indirect insulin resistance (IR) indicators according gender. The triglyceride–glucose index (TyG), TyG–body mass (TyG–BMI), TyG–waist-to-height ratio (TyG–WHtR), TyG–waist circumference (TyG–WC), triglyceride high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-c) recently proposed such as metabolic score for IR (MetS-IR), TyG–neck (TyG–NC) TyG–neck-circumference-to-height (TyG–NHtR) were evaluated in 2594 subjects enrolled PREDATORR study. Univariate multivariate logistic regression was performed identify indicators, well risk factors. participants divided into two groups, Data analyzed using SPSS version 26.0. TyG, TyG–WC, TyG–NC, TyG–NHtR TG/HDL-c had higher values male group, while TyG–BMI, TyG–WHtR MetS-IR approximately equal studied but also statistically significantly (+) vs. (−) (p < 0.001). For both analysis demonstrated that TyG independent predictors MetS. Both female largest area under receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) curve. Thus, females, AUROC curve 0.890; 95% CI 0.873–0.907; p 0.001; cut-off value 8.51, with 81.4% sensitivity 80.0% specificity. In males, 0.880; 0.861–0.899; 8.69, 78.5% 84.6% All of subjects. are predictive factors MetS, regardless subject’s

In this review article, we explore the interplay between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), highlighting a significant yet often overlooked comorbidity. We delve into pathophysiological links OSA diabetes, specifically how exacerbates insulin resistance disrupts glucose metabolism. The research examines prevalence of in diabetic patients its role worsening diabetes-related complications. Emphasizing importance comprehensive management, including weight control positive airway pressure therapy, study advocates integrated approaches to improve outcomes for with T2DM OSA. This underscores necessity recognizing addressing care ensure more effective treatment better patient outcomes.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a complex clinical syndrome an obesity-related phenotype gaining prominence amid the global obesity epidemic. This review explores distinct pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic challenges, and management strategies associated obesity-induced HFpEF. Obesity contributes to HFpEF through several key including increased blood volume, myocardial hypertrophy fibrosis, systemic inflammation, metabolic dysregulation. These factors collectively exacerbate diastolic dysfunction elevate left ventricular filling pressures, hallmark features of Diagnosing in obese patients particularly challenging due overlapping comorbidities such as hypertension diabetes, well reduced reliability traditional biomarkers N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide. Advanced imaging techniques are crucial assessing remodeling. Managing requires comprehensive approach. Lifestyle modifications, weight loss exercise, form cornerstone treatment, complemented by pharmacological therapies sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. Optimizing comorbidity essential, while emerging targeting dysfunction, alongside precision medicine approaches, offer promising future advancements. underscores need for inclusive trials personalized treatment improve outcomes A deeper understanding this developing targeted interventions that enhance patient care quality life. Integrating these insights into practice can help optimize accuracy, refine therapeutic guide risk stratification better management.

A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2024, enrolling physicians from southwestern China. The collected demographic data assessed KAP through self-administered questionnaires, with respiratory otolaryngology departments defined as relevant departments. total 329 valid questionnaires were collected. Of these respondents, 173 (52.6%) female, 114 (34.7%) had participated OSA-related training. mean scores for knowledge attitudes 24.61 ± 8.27 (possible range: 0-34) 39.99 4.34 10-50), respectively. Some observational studies found that there is an epidemiological association between type 2 diabetes (T2D) and sleep apnea (SA) glucose-lowering drugs may lower SA risk.
