The work of public safety personnel (PSP) such as police officers, firefighters, correctional and paramedics, well other PSP, makes them vulnerable to psychological injuries, which can have profound impacts on their families the communities they serve. Examining correlates of police officers’ attitudes towards seeking mental health support: A scoping review DOI

Police officers are often unwilling to seek psychological support when needed. This scoping review explored research into the correlates of police help-seeking attitudes. Searches returned 1754 initial results, with 21 quantitative, peer-reviewed studies retained (published 1995–2022 across six countries; moderate quality). Abstract: Police job, because of its inherent characteristics, predisposes to work in stressful contexts on a daily basis. The features the environment, such as good organizational climate, could play an important role maintaining level job satisfaction. aim present study is investigate, using OLS regressions, which climate dimensions predict satisfaction and stress sample police workers (N = 665) Northern Italy. In addition, differences between groups terms are examined, especially relation (police officers vs. other roles) gender. Results showed that all workplace (except fairness, autonomy communication) were positively significantly associated with satisfaction, while description, involvement, team leadership negatively stress. Compared groups, more critical scores most variables included analyses (workplace stress); gender, women negative symptoms (relational problems, emotional distress physical problems) positive perceptions fairness.
