Background Deterioration rates after enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E) for patients with bulimia-spectrum eating disorders (BN-EDs) remain high, and decreased posttreatment skill use might be a particularly relevant contributor. Digital interventions could an ideal option to improve treatment ends but they have yet investigated BN-EDs. Objective This study used user-centered design approach explore patients’ interest in digital intervention prevent deterioration CBT-E their desired features. Methods A total of 12 participants who previously received BN-EDs experienced at least partial response completed qualitative interview asking about interests needs app designed ended. Participants were also presented features commonly EDs asked provide feedback. BACKGROUND The potential for digital interventions in the self-management and treatment of mild to moderate eating disorders has already been established. However, apps are infrequently recommended by disorder therapists their clients. Those that are, often have poor engagement user satisfaction leading unsatisfactory outcomes. Barriers clinical recommendation include patient safety, data privacy belief intervention may not be helpful. Many existing limited functionality or do differ much from manual CBT self-help books, which adequately support therapeutic process sustain engagement. This study aims better understand how working community clients, where they see an app fitting into what would helpful clients within app. should inform development future engaging, effective can complement therapists’ work. OBJECTIVE explored perspectives who people with community, approach, specific techniques used treatment. It also examined on a might fit pathway as adjunct it could engage users. METHODS Twelve semi-structured interviews were completed UK. Six these professionals solely six mental health range including some disorders/disordered but whom was primary focus. A content-analysis following inductive thematic approach focused treatment, process, engaged motivated suggestions design content. RESULTS 12 / backgrounds (Mean age= 28.7 years; 7 female/5 male) participated online interviews. Five main themes reported: (1) Integrative Treatment Approach (2) Therapeutic Process (3) Engaging Motivating Clients (4) Perspectives Potential Digital App (5) Therapist Suggestions Content Design (6) Commonly Used Tools Techniques.
