Abstract Endophytic bacterial species are harmless bacteria that live in the tissue of plants and have emerged as valuable sources bioactive secondary metabolites with applications sustainable agriculture. Despite their recognized roles enhancing plant resilience serving natural biocontrol agents, biosynthesis regulatory mechanisms remain incompletely understood. This review addresses critical knowledge gaps by exploring diverse antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-algal properties endophytic potential to reduce dependence on agricultural chemicals. Key pathways involve quorum-quenching disrupt communication, lytic enzyme production degrades pathogen cell walls, induced systemic resistance (ISR) prime defense responses against environmental stressors. Recent advancements omics-based approaches, including genomics metabolomics, offer promising avenues for novel metabolite discovery large-scale application. To clarify molecular regulation these pathways, additional analysis is required optimize transform laboratory findings into field applications. Advancing our understanding will facilitate development eco-friendly solutions, ensuring long-term sustainability ecosystems, increased crop output, agriculture approaches.
