The circular economy (CE) model has gained greater recognition and acceptance in recent years for its potential to enhance sustainability. Within this context, many practices the retail sector are being overhauled through technological innovation, thereby changing business landscape. Digitalization facilitates transformation mitigate impacts of climate change without sacrificing productivity. This article explored implications digitalization processes CE Nigeria advanced that improve efficiency. Research efforts on circularity have concentrated economies; consequently, little is known about situation lower-income countries. Due exploratory nature research, a qualitative approach combined multiple data sources was adopted. Specifically, case study four major grocery retailers carried out documentary evidence supplemented by integrating thematic categories from semi-structured interviews with seasoned professionals. findings revealed (i) paradigm relatively vague concept among Nigeria; (ii) digital technologies adopted primarily value they create rather than regenerate ecosystem; (iii) such as e-commerce channel, automation, real-time tracking, social media marketing, payment; (iv) familiar favor shortening supply chains investing rural hubs, food waste reduction, closed-loops reducing use non-biodegradable packaging. Retail managers could gain insights these results move towards CE, foster efficient processes, customer satisfaction.
