Abstract
Purpose
This
study
aimed
to
investigate
the
role
of
DNA
ploidy
and
proliferation
index
in
distinguishing
ameloblastoma
(AB)
from
ameloblastic
carcinoma
(AC).
Methods
The
included
29
ACs,
6
conventional
ABs
that
transformed
into
a
control
cohort
20
ABs.
demographics
clinicopathologic
details
cases
were
summarised
compared.
Ki-67
was
scored
using
QuPath
open-source
software
platform.
analysis
performed
high-resolution
flow
cytometry.
Results
presented
at
an
overall
younger
age
compared
both
primary
secondary
ACs.
There
statistically
significant
difference
between
median
duration
tumour
when
comparing
with
ACs
presenting
longer
durations
than
AB
cohort.
All
AC
showed
relatively
high
41.7%,
higher
scores
all
diploid.
Two
diploid
aneuploid
corresponding
analysed.

association

Background:
Ameloblastic
carcinoma
(AC)
is
a
rare
malignant
odontogenic
tumor
with
limited
knowledge
surrounding
its
pathogenesis,
molecular
pathways,
clinical
behavior,
treatment,
and
prognosis.
This
40-year
literature
scoping
review
aims
to
enhance
the
comprehension
of
this
complex
condition,
looking
closely
at
how
AC
works
pathophysiological
levels
what
causes
it
develop.
Methods:
The
PUBMED,
Medline,
Scopus,
Cochrane
central
databases
were
searched,
including
articles
from
1984
date.
Articles
reporting
epidemiological,
clinical,
instrumental,
histopathological
data
included.
Results:
Out
375
examined,
52
met
inclusion
criteria,
yielding
total
80
cases
AC.
All
before
excluded
analysis,
as
all
that
did
not
provide
information
on
patient
survival.
Several
mechanisms
associated
development
progression
identified;
these
help
in
early
diagnosis.
Moreover,

radical
surgical
approach
necessary.
