Metaphors that describe an abstract concept in terms of a motion are widely used to enhance our understanding concepts. These metaphors not only daily language but also learning mathematics. As example, the process representation mathematical concept, graphical may play role mediatory domain. This could have high degree perceptual and action effector strength. is particularly case when gestures (as motion) depict representation. After looking at this we discuss strength base domains several concepts spatial Then, based on data Lancaster Sensorimotor Norms, it suggested degrees these important grounding physical environment.

Real-world communication is situated in rich multimodal contexts, containing speech and gesture. Speakers often convey unique information gesture that not present the signal (e.g., saying "He searched for a new recipe" while making typing gesture). We examine narrative retellings of participants with without moderate-severe traumatic brain injury across three timepoints over two online Zoom sessions to investigate whether people TBI can integrate from co-occurring if persists delays.60 60 non-injured peers watched videos narrator telling four short stories. On key details, produced complementary gestures conveyed information. Participants retold stories at timepoints: immediately after, 20-min later, one-week later. examined words used when retelling these coding them as Speech Match recipe"), Gesture recipe online), or Other ("He looked recipe"). also representative themselves details.Despite recalling fewer story were likely report their retellings. All more produce later compared after hearing story. We demonstrated speech-gesture integration intact This finding has exciting implications utility support comprehension memory expands our understanding naturalistic language processing this population.

Results of the studies on way language and body coordinate in communication (through gesture) have significant implications for language, education, cognitive studies. However, there is a lack convenient research this area analyzing perceptual changes within individuals. To fill gap, we investigated embodied realizations literal sentences representing metaphorical describing phenomena terms changes. We classified that referred to visual, auditory, haptic, gustatory, or olfactory change. Participants listened four narratives contained five real change described phenomenon analyzed recorded videos participants. The total number was obtained each modality (visual, olfactory) separately. Also, gestures used with category these statements obtained. Hand gestures play an integral role in multimodal language and communication. Even though the self-oriented functions of gestures, such as activating a speaker's lexicon maintaining visuospatial imagery, have been emphasized, gestures' creative thinking are not well-established. In current study, we investigated iconic verbal divergent thinking-a process related to generating many novel ideas. Based on previous findings, hypothesized that gesture use would facilitate young adults, especially those with high mental imagery skills. Participants performed Guildford's Alternative Uses Task gesture-spontaneous gesture-encouraged condition. We measured fluency (number ideas), originality (uniqueness flexibility idea categories), elaboration details) thinking. Hikâye sonrası istenen resimler son Çocuklardan alınan içeriği iki uzman araştırmacı tarafından incelenmiş içerisindeki tüm temalar not edilmiştir. NVivo 14 paket programı kullanılarak temalar, ortak özelliklerine göre kodlara ayrılmış 29 kod elde edilmiş aynı program karşılaştırmalar Çalışmanın sonuçlarına incelendiğinde, hikayenin gruplarında(6-10 yaş) olumlu değişimlere yol açtığı görülmüştür.
