Labor exploitation in the Italian agricultural sector: the case of vulnerable migrants in Tuscany

Labor exploitation of agricultural migrant workers is a well-documented phenomenon by investigations and field research in several Italian regions, both the North South. Despite agri-food excellencies "Made Italy" brand being source pride for entrepreneurship, including viticulture sector, evidence shows that many these products are result different levels illegal recruitment labor exploitation. Son yıllarda Afganistan’dan Türkiye’ye yönelik gerçekleşen göç hareketlerinde yaşanan hızlı artış ve medyanın gündeminde fazlaca yer alması, Afgan göçüne akademik ilgiyi de arttırmaya başlamıştır. Ancak halen göçünün arka planını göçmenlerin Türkiye’deki yaşam çalışma koşulları ile entegrasyon eğilimlerini anlamaya dönük derinlikli çalışmalara olan ihtiyaç sürmektedir. Bu çalışma, Trakya bölgesinde (Edirne, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli) tarım hayvancılık sektöründe görünürlük kazanan dinamiklerini ekonomik incelemeyi amaç edinmektedir. amaçla gerçekleştirilen araştırmada, yöntembilimsel olarak nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. 18 göçmenle derinlemesine görüşmelerden elde veriler, bölgesinin sektörel düzeyde geçmiş deneyimlerine benzer iş olanakları sağladığı için göçmenler tarafından öncelikli tercih edildiğini, işverenlerce sunulan olanaklar açısından negatif beklenti boşluğunun oluşmadığını göstermektedir. koşullar, eğilimlerinin olumlu seyretmesini sağlasa da düzensiz göçmenlik statüsünün yarattığı belirsizlik temel hizmetlere erişim kısıtı, uzun vadede süreci risk oluşturmaktadır.

Survey research on migrants is notoriously challenging, especially if the goal to collect data across a range of countries. Social networking sites’ ability micro-target advertisements migrant communities combined with their near-global reach makes them an attractive option.
