(c) consequences (d) current treatment options? order answer these questions, includes a correlational meta-analysis ( k = 49, N total 35,170) all empirical studies published on up July 2021. last part article, provide road map for future research by pinpointing particularly promising paths methodological improvements needed draw stronger conclusions.

In our study, we used network analysis to examine the dynamic system of parental burnout, depression, anxiety, three dimensions relationship with an adolescent: connectedness, shared activities, hostility. Parents (N = 374; Mage 42.9) at least one child age adolescence completed online survey. central symptoms were emotional exhaustion anxiety. Parental correlated negatively activities adolescent, but positively Anxiety exhaustion. Emotional anxiety strongest bridge between internalizing symptoms, Our results suggest that psychological interventions supporting parent-adolescent relationships should address primarily anxiety. The version contains supplementary material available 10.1007/s10862-023-10036-w.

Based previous literature, hypothesized optimism, humor, resilience will be associated with lower levels burnout. Two hundred eighty-one Israeli participated in completing questionnaires government-mandated lockdown. Questionnaires examined information pertaining both participants' personal characteristics (optimism pessimism, self-enhancing resilience, stress, perceptions youngest child's functioning) background (parental age, gender, health condition, socioeconomic status, employment age) examine relationship between these variables Findings indicate humor facilitated reduced enhanced well-being were stress perception. When two variables effectively represent the same variable, redundancy may spur statistical complications. For example, in a psychological network model, partial associations between that variable and other become distorted. The networktools R package contains goldbricker function to screen for redundant variables, whereby difference-based null hypothesis testing is used determine whether have zero-order correlations with (same topology).
