The extensive usage of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) materials in marine environments raises concerns about their potential contribution to plastic pollution. Various factors contribute the degradation HDPE environments, including UV radiation, seawater hydrolysis, biodegradation, and mechanical stress. Despite supposed long lifespans, there is still a lack understanding long-term mechanisms that cause weathering seawater-exposed products. In this research, impact radiation on pile sleeves was studied natural as well laboratory settings isolate effect. After nine years exposure environment settings, exhibited an increase oxygen-containing surface functional groups more morphological changes compared accelerated UVB irradiation laboratory. This work used the subcritical water medium to create hydrothermally activated carbon spheres (HACs) from discarded maize cobs. As a form of adsorbent, cob-produced HACs were remove Rose Bengal dye aqueous solutions. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis, X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), elemental analysis (EDX) and FTIR spectroscopy for analyzing produced HACs. Assessing influencing variables allowed optimization process adsorption. The highest removal happened at 60 min, sorbent dosage 1 g/L, initial concentration 100 mg/L pH 3 as consequence procedure. adsorption isotherms studied using Temkin, Freundlich Langmuir models.
