Land
use
practices
and
climate
change
have
driven
substantial
soil
degradation
across
global
drylands,
impacting
ecosystem
functions
human
livelihoods.
Biological
crusts,
a
common
feature
of
dryland
ecosystems,
are
under
extensive
exploration
for
their
potential
to
restore
the
stability
fertility
degraded
soils
through
development
inoculants.
However,
stressful
abiotic
conditions
often
result
in
failure
inoculation-based
restoration
field
may
hinder
long-term
success

Taking
an
assisted
migration
approach,
we
cultivated

from
multiple
hot-adapted
sites

Abstract
We
conducted
a
comprehensive
literature
review
with
global
geographic
scope,

interactions
between
agricultural
crop
production
practices
(excluding
protection
practices)

biological
human
health
hazards.
