Abstract The TanDEM-X InSAR coherence data is cloud-free and not affected by temporal decorrelation. It also provides excellent interferometric on the canopy, which helpful for direct detection mapping of changes in tropical forests plantations. In this paper, three scenes were acquired 2012, 2017, 2019, all single HH polarization bistatic mode covering northern Sabah. Generated was compared pairwise before after scenarios using raster analysis. GIS analysis information extraction done digitized plantations land use boundaries. Results show Oil palm mostly unchanged, Industrial Tree Plantation (ITP) decreased 27% between 2021-2017 17% 2012-2019 due to ongoing timber harvesting. Meanwhile, Forest Reserve (FR) showed an increase 14% 2012-2017. study demonstrated potential direct, quick, simple forest plantation mapping.

Forest biomass is essential for carbon budgeting, biodiversity health, and climate change research. This study developed a novel L-band fully polarimetric SAR method estimating aboveground (AGB) in forested region India. Biomass was estimated using ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 data sets field AGB measurements. To estimate forest AGB, the algorithm employs seven-component scattering power decomposition (7SD) random regression (RFR) machine-learning approach. By implementing 7SD model, seven powers were extracted from inverted biomass. The used to validate by model. model Shivamogga consistent with measured root mean squared error (RMSE) relative RMSE respect 21.94 Mg/ha 19.46, respectively, which are within acceptable ranges. also cross-validation at Tundi Forest, where 22.9. generated can be useful tropical estimation.

Abstract The increasing availability of dual-polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) data has led to a significant rise in its applications over the past few decades. Model-based decompositions combined with polarimetric information extraction from PolSAR play crucial role target identification and classification. In this context, covariance matrix [C], composed four independent parameters, was used as input for dual-pol four-component scattering power decomposition (DP-4SD). A novel 4SD model tested using dual SAR spaceborne ALOS-2/PALSAR-2, performance evaluated against existing methods. proposed assessed dual-polarization Haldwani Forest San Francisco evaluate classification capabilities within single class (forest) across various land use cover classes Francisco. overall accuracy achieved 85.69% forest 93.66% Francisco, fewer unclassified samples compared model. demonstrates superior enhances interpretation information, indicating potential significantly improve land-use land-cover mapping data.
