Although various metal-based compounds have exhibited excellent immunogenic cell death (ICD)-inducing properties both in vitro and vivo, the majority of these been discovered serendipitously. In this work, we successfully synthesized characterized 35 cyclometalated Au(III) complexes containing dithiocarbamate ligands, with 25 being previously unreported. Their ability to induce phagocytosis against immunologically "cold" malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) cells was strongly dependent on scaffold overall lipophilicity complexes. We elucidated role mechanisms observed ICD effects identified correlations between necrotic ICD, vivo. Immunogenic cell death (ICD) has attracted enormous attention over the past decade due to its unique characteristics in cancer and role activating innate adaptive immune responses against tumours. Many efforts have been dedicated screening, identifying discovering ICD inducers, resulting validation of several based on metal complexes.
