Building insights into the structure–performance relationship of catalysts has been emphasized recently. However, it remains a challenge due to catalysts' various and complex structures, especially easily overlooked influence support material. Here, we reveal crucial influences boron introduction on synthesizing 3D carbon nanotube monoliths with embedded multistate Co metals, i.e., single atoms, clusters, nanoparticles (Co-BNCNTs), by an interesting chemical blowing-assisted calcination method. The can contribute forming captivating boron–nitrogen pairs, shaping frame, regulating electronic structure. Co-BNCNT present good catalytic performance for both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) at all pH values oxygen reduction (ORR). theoretical calculations indicate that B incorporation in Co-NCNTs optimize free energy adsorbed facilitate O2 adsorption protonation O2* species. Furthermore, Co-BNCNTs-based zinc–air battery provides great high power density discharge–charge durability.

Abstract Fabrication of cost‐effective and robust metal‐based electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) across the entire pH range has garnered significant attention in harvesting renewable energy. Herein, fabrication 3D high‐surface Ni Foam‐Graphene‐Carbon Nanotubes (NGC) decorated with phosphorous‐inserted tin selenide (SnSe‐P) showcases unprecedented HER activity minimal overpotentials all ranges (52 mV acidic, 93 basic, 198 neutral conditions@10 mA cm −2 ) stability at 1 A 72 h. The as‐designed catalyst shows a low overpotential 122 mV@10 alkaline seawater, achieved through controlled electronic distribution on Sn site after incorporation P NGC‐SnSe‐P. stable cell voltage 1.56 V@10 cm⁻ 2 is prolonged time m KOH toward overall water electrolysis. Experimental theoretical investigation reveals that insertion layered SnSe enables s orbitals H * p to interact, favoring adsorption intermediate. approach adopted by using silicon solar cells (η = 10.66%) power up electrolyzer, yielding solar‐to‐hydrogen (STH) conversion efficiency 7.70% 5.65% aiming green production.
