To create green, low-energy self-compacting backfill materials, this study utilizes aeolian sand, slag, red mud, and calcium carbide slag to prepare diverse solid waste materials in synergy. Additionally, a suitable amount of polypropylene fibers is added enhance its toughness. During the experimental process, unconfined compressive strength tests were conducted using digital speckle technique. Computerized tomography scanning technology was employed for internal 3D visualization samples. Material difference mechanisms characterized SEM–EDS XRD microscopic techniques. Finally, discrete element numerical simulation utilized analyzing evolution sample failure. The results show that with increase doping, specimen UCS increases then decreases, when doping 14%, reaches local maximum 3.552 MPa; water–solid ratio, gradually ratio 0.3, minimum 3.26 MPa. With mass percentage calcium-silicon multi-solid matrix first increased decreased, micro-morphology included lamellar, block, rod structures; transformed, pore defects between cementitious increased. porosity within unit exceeds decreases; gradual increases, number holes 208 range 0.24. Digital technique PFC together elucidate sample's failure process crack mechanism. Initially, voids are compacted, propagation slow. As load peak, localized deformation macroscopic formation occur sample. After peak load, exhibits significant displacement deformation, cracks significantly. research findings can provide reference design construction pipelines trenches.
