Understanding the water quality and its influencing factors of different bodies is essential for managing resources in closed inland lake basins semi-arid regions. However, generally, groundwater or surface assessed separately, differences among are neglected. This study Daihai Lake Basin (a basin a region) by analysing hydrochemical data groundwater, spring, river, waters dry wet seasons. The dominant type (81.48%), spring (80%), river (83.33%) was HCO 3 – Ca•Mg, while that Cl-Na (100%). Groundwater, water, were suitable drinking agricultural irrigation; however, worse season than season. Na + Cl majorly affected quality. mean NO concentration 28.39 mg/L, non-carcinogenic hazard quotient indicated high risk areas mainly distributed Tiancheng northern Maihutu. compositions influenced rock (silicate carbonate) weathering cation exchange, activities main sources . Moreover, composition evaporation halite dissolution. Thus, pollution salinisation should be prioritised. These findings provide more thorough understanding region, can used to develop protection ecosystems management strategies Basin.

Inner Mongolia Reaches of the Yellow River Basin (IMR-YRB) in China, knwon as "Jiziwan" economic belt. High spatio-seasonal resolution sampling data surface waters IMR-YRB were applied (189 samples collected from 63 sites during wet (July 2021), dry (October 2021) and normal (April 2022) seasons). The testing results stable H O isotopes combined with backward wind trajectory modeling geostatistical analysis to identify characteristics water cycle its controlling factors. showed that mainly recharged by precipitation summer monsoon, resulting depleted isotopic contents (low δ18O high d-excess) season. In contrast, most characterized enrichment (high low seasons, which was attributed effects continuous evaporation. addition, there some exhibited depletion seasons due groundwater discharge or snowmelt recharge. Overall, this study improved understanding at a large-scale basin for hydrologic processes other regions.
