Earthen materials have been used as economic building since ancient times and continue to be today, particularly in our modern society that pursues sustainability. As a form of agricultural waste, straw stalks are reused civil engineering avoid being burnt, which not only saves costs but also avoids environmental impacts. In the following paper, we present an experimental study on mechanical properties rammed red clay reinforced by fibers. Straw were cut into different lengths mixed evenly with proportions before compacted. The compressive strength, flexural shear strength stabilized analyzed. results show stalks, single reinforcing material, can significantly improve clay. had varying effects improving indexes When length was 15 mm stalk content 0 Sust.3%, best effect

Abstract Expansive clays with high plasticity need to be stabilized prevent hazards that may arise due the extreme volume changes experienced moisture fluctuations. Utilizing a kind of natural and eco-friendly sustainable fiber named as basalt into soils has become new issue needs expanded in scope. In this paper, plastic soil was by these fibers reduce possible soil-induced disasters. Basalt different lengths were mixed clay at varied amounts. Due soil’s sensitivity water, samples prepared distinct water contents, 2 on dry 3 wet side optimum. To question whether strength loss change can regained or not, tests performed both samples. Through tests, it revealed expansive enhanced up 280% content 2%. The highest obtained approximately 880 kPa mixing 24 mm 15% 1 2% ratios. As anticipated, long (24 mm) supplied real reinforcement even contents. addition, data set used train machine learning algorithms (linear, ridge, lasso, support vector, decision tree) have just started applied geotechnical engineering. Results proved that, tree regression outperformed stress strain 0.85 R -squared ( ) 0.91 estimation. Additionally, from feature importance analyses an 85% 97% strain.

In the framework of sustainable development and environmental preservation, this research aims to improve stability frost resistance sulfate saline soil by utilizing industrial solid waste. Geopolymer materials containing fly ash (FA) activated different NaOH concentrations were studied for study on stabilized with soil, used ranged from 0.1 0.9. This investigates impact molar concentration number freeze-thaw cycles microstructure strength incorporating FA geopolymer. The XRD, FTIR, TG studies NaOH-excited revealed that gel material grew increasing concentration. increased then declined as increased, an optimum excitation 0.5 M. After 28 days curing at 20 °C, its UCS splitting 7.18 MPa 1.89 MPa, respectively. residual values after 5 (12 hours freezing followed 12 thawing +20 °C) optimal 46.35% 39.92%,

This study investigates the influence of rainfall patterns (RP) on behaviour expansive soil through a series large-scale column experiments. The mass was compacted to an initial water content 10% and dry density either 1.0 g/cm3 or 1.3 g/cm3. same total amount introduced mass; however, over different times: a) 6 days (RP1) mimic extreme event b) 14 (RP2) simulate prolonged with low daily intensity. experimental data changes in content, suction, vertical displacements revealed that swell influenced by influx, where RP2 associated higher compared RP1. It observed rate depended wetting front propagation density, while decreased depth active zone.
