Background: Having a child with chronic condition presents major stress for parents and can adversely affect parenting quality, thus jeopardizing children’s outcomes. Self-compassion serves as an emotion regulation strategy to cope from parenting, but remains unexplored, particularly in the parents’ context related their illnesses. Objective: This paper aimed explore analyze concept of self-compassion children illnesses inform future research, clinical practices, intervention designs improving Methods: Walker Avant’s eight-step analysis approach was conducted, which comprised selecting concept, defining aims, conducting literature search (2014–2024) using specified keywords across databases (CINAHL, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Medline, ProQuest, Scopus Google Scholar), identifying attributes, presenting model, borderline, related, contrary cases, outlining antecedents, consequences, empirical referents. Results: The attributes consist self-kindness, common humanity, mindfulness, motivation relieve suffering. Antecedents comprise illness perception, social support, stigma. Consequences are improved psychological well-being (decreased depression, anxiety, parental stress, burnout), effective (parental responsiveness mindful parenting), reduced difficulties (internalizing externalizing symptoms). Conclusion: offers consequences Nursing care should focus on education that incorporates interdisciplinary collaboration enhance understanding child’s illness. Nurses assess encourage seek support networks, provide skill training Healthcare professionals need cultural competence work families diverse backgrounds manage differences practices child-rearing standards.

The pursuit of intrinsic goals plays a pivotal role in enhancing an individual's overall psycho-social well-being, health, and more (Deci & Ryan, 2000). As such, understanding the factors that influence formation is essential. This study tests hypotheses about relationship between childhood risk environments goals, focusing on unpredictability harshness as independent variables, with Chinese university students serving subjects. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 2,355 from three universities China, using four measurement tools: Childhood Unpredictability Questionnaire, Harshness Parental Autonomy Support Desire Index Scale. Data analysis carried out SPSS 24.0 AMOS software. results reveal unpredictability, rather than harshness, negatively linked students' goals. shows positive predictive link to when high, negative low.
