Many patients experience long-term cognitive dysfunction after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and effective treatments are currently lacking. Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), an inexpensive easily produced gas, forms carbonic acid when dissolved in water. Studies have suggested that hypercapnia may neuroprotective effects. However, the optimal concentration of CO for therapeutic inhalation is still unclear. This study aimed to investigate effects various concentrations on function SAH rats explore potential molecular mechanisms involved. In this study, we established a rat model by endovascular perforation internal carotid artery. The models inhaled at 10%, 20%, or 30%, 1 hour modeling. results showed 10% improved cortical blood flow following SAH, while higher (20% 30%) worsened hypoperfusion. partial pressure did not change but it significantly increased with . Additionally, effectively inhibited neuronal apoptosis, enhanced locomotor activity, memory learning abilities rats. Moreover, upregulated phosphorylation phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase) protein kinase B, expression Bcl-2, decreased Bax. conclusion, inhaling restores cerebral perfusion, inhibits improves contrast, led effect occur through activation 3-kinase/protein B signaling pathway.

The benefit of remote ischaemic conditioning (RIC) in acute moderate stroke has been demonstrated by the Remote Ischaemic Conditioning for Acute Moderate Stroke (RICAMIS) study. This prespecified exploratory analysis aimed to determine whether there was a difference RIC efficacy anterior versus posterior circulation based on RICAMIS data.
