Nigeria is among the countries highly vulnerable to climate change impact. Thus, there has been growing emphasis on pursuit of decarbonization and net-zero (net-zero transition) strategies. The aim this work review major concepts in research publications associated with mitigation Nigeria. literature search was conducted Scopus database using relevant keyword operators. Mixed methods were adopted conduct bibliometric, text mining content analysis. Bibliometric software (VOSviewer) used. objectives identify how transition evolved Nigeria; their important themes trends Nigeria, potential directions for future achieving them results show that number field increasing, 87% articles included dataset published between 2016 2024. Through data clustering, eight clusters identified, namely (i) renewable energy, economic growth emission reduction nexus (ii) energy Nigerian power system, (iii) policy drivers (socio-technical economic) a cleaner (iv) governance, (v) hybrid systems, (vi) low-carbon transition, (vii) efficiency others. By checking through keywords used by authors, it appears most popular are carbon neutrality, hydrogen, biomass, circular economy, electric vehicles. These further highlight areas interests. Some identified include need effective communication strong cooperation academia CC policy-making bodies translate scientific into evidence-based policies actionable frameworks; tiered subsidies or tax rebates low-income households promote mitigating technologies align social equity; Although focuses solely country shares similar characteristics many sub-Saharan African countries, some others global South.
