Starting with the principles of degrowth, this commentary examines scale and modes action through which defined as planned reduction production consumption, may unfold. It considers four levels—the state, market, communities, individuals—through degrowth has been analyzed. While individual level places responsibility on consumer, thus emptying environmental issues political significance, first three levels outline numerous systemic proposals for a agenda. However, role marketing can play depends its ability to align not just narrow interests companies, capital owners, consumers’ short-sighted desires, but also those humans natural world without former cannot survive.
