Disposal of Cr(VI) into environments without adequate pretreatment from various industrial wastes has detrimental effects on human health that range skin irritation to cancer depending the dose and exposure level. Taking this consideration, a novel Zeolite-A/Fe3O4/Biochar/MOF-5 (Z-A/Fe3O4/BC/MOF-5) composite was synthesized through solvothermal method for adsorption wastewater. The phase structure, surface area, functional group, morphology, elemental composition as-synthesized adsorbent were characterized by using XRD, BET, FT-IR, SEM-EDX, respectively. batch studied optimizing parameters. maximum efficiency (95.12%) capacity (47.57 mg/g) obtained at 15 mg/L initial concentration, 0.3 g/L dose, 120 min contact time, pH = 5, isotherm kinetic Z-A/Fe3O4/BC/MOF-5 well fitted with Freundlich pseudo-second-order models, which suggests occurred chemosorption heterogeneous adsorbent's surface. Furthermore, recyclability conducted five successive runs resulted in 95.07, 89.59, 85.69, 71.74, 64.83% first, second, third, fourth, fifth runs, quaternary finally tested wastewater concentration 36.27 collected Batu Tannery Industry PLC, Ethiopia. Interestingly, shows higher performance, 92.85% removal efficiency, much than its pristine MOF-5 (90.57%), binary Z-A/MOF-5 (83.05%), ternary Z-A/Fe3O4/BC (82.83%) composites. This could be due synergic effect individual materials composite. Consequently, is promising

Methyl orange is abundantly present in wastewater generated from textile industries causing serious human health and environmental problems. Therefore, this study was aimed at preparing a low cost effective biosorbent the stem of Rumex abyssinicus plant for removal methyl aqueous solution. Characterization prepared adsorbent material carried out using pH point zero charge, Scanning Electron microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The design optimization batch adsorption Box Behnken approach to Response Surface methodology aiming reduce experimental runs time with adequate results. characterization revealed 7.9 (pHpzc), porous heterogonous surface presence multiple functional groups amorphous structure maximum efficiency 98.5 % found pH, contact time, concentration dosage 6, 60 min, 20 mg/L 0.2 g/100 mL respectively. isotherm studies were Langmuir, Freundlich, Toth Koble Corrigan models which Freundlich R2 0.95 fit data best showing heterogeneous multilayer interaction. On other hand, kinetics that pseudo-second-order fitted best. Moreover, thermodynamics analysis showed nature be endothermic, spontaneous feasible. Generally, work proved low-cost, environmentally friendly easily abyssinicus-based could an alternative dye detoxification industrial scale.

The chromium(VI) ions present in the tannery waste was efficiently remove by using silver-alumina impregnated maghemite/magnetite nanocomposites as adsorbents. as-synthesized adsorbents were characterized XRD, SEM-EDAX, HR-TEM and FT-IR techniques. adsorption process found to be pH, time, dosage of adsorbent temperature dependent. data appropriate well with pseudo-first-order kinetics, pseudo-second-order kinetics Langmuir Freundlich isotherms. Among two synthesized nanoabsorbents, magnetite (SAMG) nanocomposite most effective absorbent, its maximum chromium removal efficiency achieved 98.81% within 2 h at a pH 3.0 0.5 g/L.
