Abstract
Severe
acute
respiratory
syndrome
coronavirus
2
(SARS-CoV-2)
has
been
demonstrated
to
infect
various
mammals,
including
cats,
dogs,
and
minks.
Given
the
close
coexistence
of
humans
transmission
SARS-CoV-2
variants
between
these
two
species
documented.
This
study
involved
sampling
eight
domestic
cats
that
resided
solely
with
their
infected
owners
in
Brazil,
during
early
stage
Omicron
variant
wave.
Nasal
anal
secretion
samples
obtained
from
were
subjected
RT-qPCR
analysis,
which
revealed
no
detection
SARS-CoV-2.
Additionally,
serum
collected
did
not
show
presence
anti-SARS-CoV-2
antibodies.
The
findings

indicate
a
low
potential
felines,

Abstract
Repeat
spillover

SARS-CoV-2
into
new
hosts

coronaviruses
