During the course of a study on biodiversity endophytes from Cameroon, fungal strain was isolated. A multigene phylogenetic inference using five DNA loci revealed that this represents an undescribed species Diaporthe, which is introduced here as D.breyniae. Diaporthales is a significant fungal order comprising species that predominantly inhabit plant tissues, being pathogens, endophytes, and saprobes. Recent studies have uncovered extensive diversity across various hosts, utilizing both morphological characteristics molecular phylogenetic analyses. In this study, samples of leaf spots branch cankers were collected from China, isolations established. Species identification was conducted using approach based on combined sequence data the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, large subunit ribosomal DNA (LSU), DNA-directed RNA polymerase II second largest (rpb2), translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef1) genes, together with observations. As result, novel genus Tiania proposed, three newly described species: T.chinensis, T.lithocarpicola, T.quercicola. These are validated by pairwise homoplasy index (PHI) analysis, ensuring robust support for their distinction. This study explores rare family Diaporthostomataceae, providing first descriptions anamorphic forms. By offering detailed data, research lays foundation future taxonomic systematic Diaporthales.

Abstract Hypocreomycetidae is a highly diverse group with species from various habitats. This subclass has been reported as pathogenic, endophytic, parasitic, saprobic, fungicolous, lichenicolous, algicolous, coprophilous and insect fungi aquatic terrestrial In this study, we focused on freshwater of which resulted 41 fresh collections China Thailand. Based morphological phylogenetic analyses, identified 26 that belong to two orders ( Hypocreales Microascales ) six families Bionectriaceae , Halosphaeriaceae Microascaceae Nectriaceae Sarocladiaceae Stachybotryaceae ). Ten new are introduced 13 habitats geographic records reported. Mariannaea superimposita, Stachybotrys chartarum S. chlorohalonatus recollected in China. analysis combined LSU, ITS, SSU, rpb 2 tef 1-α sequences data, Emericellopsis transferred genera incertae sedis ; Pseudoacremonium Sedecimiella placed Nautosphaeria Tubakiella excluded Faurelina . Varicosporella under Atractium synonym addition, divergence time estimates showed Ascocodina Campylospora Cornuvesica Xenodactylariaceae form distinct lineages they evolved the family/order frame. Hence, order Xenodactylariales three Ascocodinaceae Campylosporaceae Cornuvesicaceae based analysis, estimations characters. Ancestral character state performed for different including freshwater, marine taxa. The result indicates independently ancestors. results further support those early diverging clades subclass, mostly comprising taxa have secondarily derived, while crown clade represented all evolution adaptations towards their habitual changes also discussed.

Botryosphaeriales (Dothideomycetes, Ascomycota) occur in a wide range of habitats as endophytes, saprobes, and pathogens. The order has not been subjected to evaluation since 2019 by Phillips co-authors using phylogenetic evolutionary analyses. Subsequently, many studies introduced novel taxa into the revised several families separately. In addition, no ancestral character have conducted for this order. Therefore, study, we re-evaluated evolution taxonomic placements species based on evolution, divergence time estimation, relationships, including all that so far. Maximum likelihood, maximum parsimony, Bayesian inference analyses were combined LSU ITS sequence alignment. Ancestral state reconstruction was carried out conidial colour, septation, nutritional mode. Divergence times estimates revealed originated around 109 Mya early epoch Cretaceous period. All six evolved late period (66–100 Mya), during which Angiosperms also appeared, rapidly diversified became dominant land. Families Paleogene Neogene periods Cenozoic era. comprises Aplosporellaceae, Botryosphaeriaceae, Melanopsaceae, Phyllostictaceae, Planistromellaceae Saccharataceae. Furthermore, current study assessed two hypotheses; first one being “All endophytes then switched saprobes when their hosts died or pathogens under stress”; second hypothesis states “There is link between colour mode botryosphaerialean taxa”. pathogenic/saprobic character. However, could provide strong evidence mainly due significantly low number reporting endophytic taxa. Results showed hyaline aseptate conidia characters supported relationship pigmentation pathogenicity species.

Melanommataceous species exhibit high diversity with a cosmopolitan distribution worldwide and show prominent saprobic lifestyle. In this study, we explored five collected from plant litter substrates terrestrial habitats in China Thailand. A combination of morphological characteristics multi-locus phylogenetic analyses was used to determine their taxonomic classifications. Maximum Likelihood Bayesian Inference combined LSU, SSU, ITS tef1-α sequence data were clarify the affinities species. Byssosphaeria poaceicola Herpotrichia zingiberacearum are introduced as new species, while three host records, Bertiella fici , By. siamensis Melanomma populicola also reported Cinnamomum verum Citrus trifoliata Fagus sylvatica respectively. Yet, despite rising interest melanommataceous there is considerable gap knowledge on associations geographical distributions. Consequently, compiled host-species distributions all so far known
