The Clonostachys genus is a saprophytic soil microfungus (Ascomycota). It exhibits significant ecological adaptability and plays crucial role in maintaining the balance of microorganisms. Species within this are natural antagonists insects nematodes, they also combat phytopathogenic fungi through mycoparasitism. This process involves producing lytic enzymes competing for space nutrients. species effective biocontrol agents agriculture have been utilized to manage pests affecting many high-value commercial crops, acting as biopesticide. They inhabit plant tissues, boosting defenses activating genes water nutrient uptake, enhancing performance. Additionally, produce bioactive metabolites with antimicrobial, antifungal, nematocidal, anticancer, antioxidant properties. can degrade plastic waste remove hydrocarbons from crude oil-contaminated sites when functioning endophytes, positioning promising candidate reducing environmental pollution. There still challenges limitations, such continuous surveillance safety on plants, establishment applications, formulation viability, variability due field conditions. These issues will be addressed. review provides an overview ecology, morphology, classification, biotechnological emphasizing its significance various fields.

Over the past two decades, numerous novel species have been identified within Dictyosporiaceae, primarily in Dictyocheirospora and Dictyosporium. A recent monograph has revealed that these genera exhibit a distinct preference for freshwater habitats, particularly southern China. However, further investigation into distribution diversity of Guangdong Guizhou Provinces remains insufficient. In this study, we conducted an analysis four intriguing cheiroid hyphomycetes collected from flowing rivers regions. Through morphological phylogenetic analyses incorporating combined LSU, SSU, ITS, tef1-α sequence data, them as (Dictyoc. submersa sp. nov.), Dictyosporium (Dictyos. guangdongense nov. Dictyos. variabilisporum one previously documented digitatum). Specifically, identification is based on its morphology, characterized by complanate, cheiroid, brown to dark conidia, with hyaline, short, atrophied appendage arising apical cell outer row. addition, distinctions between are clarified our new data. This study also highlights few matters regarding Dictyosporiaceae.

South China is a hotspot for fungal diversity. During investigations of saprobic fungi in Yunnan Province, we collected and identified new species, Queenslandipenidiella lingcangensis, host record Periconia byssoides from dead woody twigs Cryptocarya hainanensis Ehretia acuminata, respectively. Both morphology multigene phylogenetic analyses combined ITS LSU sequence data supported the placement taxa within with high statistical support. The taxon characterised by numerous, erect, hairy, dark brown to black colonies, macronematous, solitary or gregarious, oblong, brown, branching penicillate conidiophores 5−6-septate, mono- polyblastic, terminal, narrowly ellipsoidal subcylindrical, pale conidiogenous cells 1–2-celled, globose subglobose, aseptate, thick-walled, hyaline greenish-brown conidia. We provide descriptions, illustrations, results, notes discussing species record.

Yuanjiang River (Red River) is one of the six major water systems in Yunnan Province, which originates from western Province. This river system features numerous tributaries, complex terrain, and abundant natural resources. During investigation on diversity lignicolous freshwater fungi River, nine species were collected identified, five belonging to Dothideomycetes four Sordariomycetes. Based morphology multigene phylogenetic analyses, species, namely, Aquadictyospora aquatica, Dictyosporium fluminicola, Myrmecridium submersum, Neomyrmecridium fusiforme, are described as new species. Dictyocheirospora aquadulcis reported a national record, hydei habitat record. rotunda, Halobyssothecium aquifusiforme, Pseudohalonectria lutea known earlier habitats, but we them detail this paper. study contributes significantly understanding southwestern China.

Farmers hoping to manage cropping systems sustainably are turning cover crops help mitigate plant pathogens. Plants with biofumigant properties used control soil-borne pathogens in agricultural settings, especially till systems, where the brassicas incorporated into soil as green manure or seed meal. The effect of these is not well studied no-till systems; thus, it hard know if they effective manure. Whether can changes during a single growth season has yet been studied. This study compared response microbial community four different brassica crops, two which commonly vineyards (Sinapis alba L. (white mustard) and Raphanus sativus (L.) Domin (tillage radish)) that native naturalized Okanagan (Capsella bursa-pastoris Medik. (Shepherd’s purse) Boechera holboelli (Hornem.) Á. Löve D. (Holbøll’s rockcress)). Cover did affect fungal species richness, but B. recover were associated increased evenness among taxa. Both C. S. had lower levels parasitic nematodes non-brassica controls. These results apparent only after growing season, indicates growers could use this approach needed, minimizing long-term exposure biofumigants for beneficial microbes.

Species within Tetraplosphaeriaceae have been frequently documented in recent years with the extensive investigations of microfungi along a latitudinal gradient from north to south Asian/Australian region. Both bamboo substrates and freshwater habitats serve as reservoirs, hosting rich diversity fungi that exhibit broad geographical distributions. The most common these two environments are generally distributed distinct families. However, our statistics revealed an intriguingly preference species for inhabiting both habitats. genera Pseudotetraploa (100%) Triplosphaeria strong preference, followed by Shrungabeeja (71%) Quadricrura (67%). Our taxonomic phylogenetic study southern China identified four additional novel species, viz., Aquatisphaeria bambusae sp. nov., phyllostachydis yangjiangensis Tetraploa submersa nov. In addition, thailandica has previously Thailand; however, we once again isolated this decaying Guangdong, China. new findings substantiate hypothesis colonizing will be more evident through conducted such environments.
