evolved
independently
in
animals
and
fungi.

study
proposes
adaptive
hypotheses
regarding
its
origins
phenotypic
significance,
suggesting
that
A‐to‐I
editing
enhances
adaptability
by
alleviating
genetic
trade‐offs.

metazoans,
emergence
may
have
been
driven

trade‐off

with
transposable
element
activation
during
the
evolution
