ABSTRACT Membrane separation technology has attracted widespread attention due to its high efficiency in separating specific dyes from wastewater. Molybdenum disulfide is a promising candidate for the preparation of high‐performance nanofiltration membranes. However, effective exfoliation and functionalization molybdenum nanosheets remain challenging. The study reports novel method preparing poly diallyldimethylammonium chloride grafted by simultaneously exfoliating functionalizing solution through ball milling. filtration performance (including water permeability rejection efficiency) nanosheets‐functionalized polyethersulfone composite membrane evaluated during treatment methyl orange wastewater, mechanism thoroughly investigated. results show that successfully onto surface exfoliated nanosheets, effectively modulating interlayer spacing properties making exhibit (943.97 L m −2 h −1 bar ) (95.2%). Further investigation reveals achieves efficient electrostatic adsorption size exclusion mechanisms.
