Cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKX), responsible for irreversible cytokinin degradation, also controls plant growth and development response to abiotic stress. Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) is the predominant global fiber crop and has considerable significance because of its agronomic characteristics. Among these characteristics, plant height plays a vital role in determining harvest index yield potential. Previous studies have mainly focused on elucidating mechanisms governing ICE-CBF-COR cascade to enhance resilienceto low temperatures. Although ICE2 lines did not show cold tolerance, they exhibited dwarfing plants increased yield. This led observations reduced hypocotyl internode length, biomass, higher yield, shorter length through phenotypic assessment. From leaf transcriptome analysis, differential expression BR synthesis signaling pathway CBF1 gene was identified. qRT-PCR analysis revealed upregulation GhCBF1 downregulation GhTCH4 stems lines. Cotton is an economically important crop. However, the yield gain in cotton has stagnated over years, probably due to its narrow genetic base. The introgression of beneficial variations through conventional and molecular approaches helped broaden base some extent. growth habit one crucial factors that determine crop maturation time, yield, management.
