The landscape pattern of permeable/impermeable patches or areas significantly influences nitrogen transport in urban stormwater runoff. Therefore, the optimal catchments can contribute to alleviating pollution. This study investigated effect on NO3--N and particulate organic (PON) concentrations during runoff their source contributions. Six indices, namely mean proximity index (MPI), largest patch (LPI), shape (MSI), (LSI), connect (CONNECT), splitting (SPLIT), were selected reflect fragmentation, complexity, connectivity permeable catchments. results show that lower higher greater reduce road drainage flow (ie., network), as well PON Low impact development (LID) also be incoporated with mitigate pollution at catchment scale by optimizing its spatial arrangement.

This study offers a first-of-its-kind investigation into the spatial and temporal transformation of agricultural land use expansion in crops livestock at national scale during middle latter half 19th century. We introduce an innovative methodological framework that combines historical data with advanced analysis to trace map evolution frontiers changes, illustrating Denmark's towards modern era. Our research uncovers critical shifts cropland, grazing land, density offering unprecedented insights mechanisms driving intensification. The this their potential impact on contemporary agroecological challenges linked intensification are explored. results point significant broadening shifting perspective use. sets stage for promoting drivers change gaining how landscape development could be steered environmentally societally more desirable sustainable direction tackling present-day challenges.
