Future studies into AD treatments are encouraged by review's demonstration effectiveness phytoconstituents that were extracted from a number plants. In addition to having many beneficial effects, such as improved cholinergic function, medicines also much less harmful, more readily available, easier use than other treatments. They pass without difficulty through blood-brain barrier (BBB). focused on substances their effects using academic databases identify peer-reviewed published between 2015 2024. According literature review, 66 isolated 21 distinct plants have shown efficacy, which could be encouraging future research therapies. Since most clinical trials produce contradictory results, suggests larger-scale with longer treatment durations necessary validate or refute therapeutic efficacy

The relationship between niacin and osteoarthritis (OA) is not clear. Using a retrospective cohort study from the National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), this aimed to investigate association intake osteoarthritis. This conducted cross-sectional analysis using data 1999–2018 was assessed univariate multivariate weighted logistic regression models restricted cubic spline curves (RCS). Nonlinear correlation analyzed by fitting smooth curve. In study, 30,620 participants were examined, with 1,864 individuals diagnosed osteoarthritis, resulting in prevalence of 5.74%. Utilizing regression, consistent inverse Niacin observed (OR = 0.99, 95% CI: 0.98–0.99, P 0.003). When treated as categorical variable, highest quartile (Q4) exhibited 33% reduced risk compared lowest (Q1) 0.67, 0.53–0.83, 0.0004). revealed non-linear (non-linear 0.022), 33.53 inflection point. Subgroup analyses further highlighted stronger Non − Hispanic Black other Race patients. results showed negative linear OA risk. By increasing niacin-rich foods, can be reduced, providing ideas for prevention treatment Further future studies are recommended validate our findings.

The relationship between dietary niacin and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is still not fully understood. Our objective was to assess the association intake prevalence of ASCVD. In this cross-sectional study, we examined a cohort 15,685 adult individuals in United States, aged 20 years older, who participated National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) carried out 2007 2014. Dietary Niacin consumption assessed using 24-h recall method. assessment presence ASCVD conducted through Patient Medical Conditions Questionnaire. To reliability results, restricted cubic spline models logistic regression analyses were employed, along with conducting subgroup analyses. analysis included participants or drawn from NHANES data for cycles spanning Of which 10.4% (1,638/15,685) diagnosed probability diminishes by 9% each 10 mg/day increment (OR = 0.91, 95% CI: 0.87-0.96). This held true when as categorical variable. Compared lowest intake, defined T1 (≤17.4 mg/day), adjusted odds ratios those higher intakes, T2 (17.5-27.2 mg/day) T3 (≥27.3 0.87 (95% 0.76-0.99, p 0.037) 0.75 0.64-0.87, < 0.001), respectively. There an inverse prevalence, supported sensitivity Subgroup revealed interaction effect stratified age. has demonstrated that significantly negative associated American adults ≥20 years.

Background: Nicotinamide is the active form of vitamin B3 (niacin) obtained through endogenous synthesis, mainly tryptophan metabolism and dietary supplements, fish, meats, grains, dairy products. It participates in cellular energy modulates multiple survival death pathways. has been widely studied as a safe chemopreventive agent that reduces actinic keratosis (AKs) non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC). Methods: We used Medline, EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane databases to search concepts “nicotinamide”, “chemoprevention”, “skin cancer” up August 2023. Three independent authors screened titles abstracts for intervention study design before searching full texts eligibility criteria. The primary outcome was impact oral nicotinamide on incidence NMSC high-risk patients. also conducted systematic identify relevant epidemiological studies published evaluating niacin intake risk NMSC. Results: Two hundred twenty-five were reviewed, four met inclusion There no association between NAM consumption squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) (rate ratio (RR) 0.81, 95% CI 0.48–1.37; I2 = 0%), basal (BCC) (RR 0.88, 0.50–1.55; 63%), 0.82, 0.61–1.12; 63%). Adverse events rare acceptable, allowing optimal compliance patients treatment. found only one article risk, supporting potential beneficial role concerning SCC but not BCC or melanoma. Conclusions: present meta-analysis shows, by pooling immunocompetent immunosuppressed patients, there insufficient evidence therapy significantly number keratinocyte cancers.

Aging, an inevitable physiological process leading to a progressive decline in bodily functions, has been abundantly researched domain with studies attempting slow it down and reduce its debilitating effects. Investigations into the cellular molecular pathways associated aging have allowed formulation of therapeutic strategies. Of these, caloric restriction (CR) implicated for role promoting healthy by modulating key targets like Insulin/IGF-1, mTOR, sirtuins. However, CR requires dedication commitment strict regimen which poses difficulty maintaining consistency. To maneuver around cumbersome diets, Caloric Restriction Mimetics (CRMs) emerged as promising alternatives mimicking beneficial effects CR. This review elucidates foundations enabling CRMs rapamycin, metformin, resveratrol, spermidine, many more function suitable anti-aging molecules. Moreover, explores clinical trials (retrieved from clinicaltrials.gov database) aimed at demonstrating efficacy effective candidates against age-related neurodegenerative diseases such Alzheimer's disease Parkinson's disease.

Objectives This study delves into the association between dietary niacin intake and Helicobacter pylori seropositivity, a topic gaining prominence in academic discourse. However, precise role of Niacin development progression seropositivity remains inadequately understood. Thus, this research aims to investigate connections H. using nationally representative sample adults. Methods A cross-sectional analysis encompassed 4,000 participants from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted United States 1999 2000, all aged 20 years or older. The employed generalized additive model (GAM) multivariate logistic regression explore potential relationship seropositivity. Subgroup analyses were performed based on gender, age, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipemia. Results Analyzing data NHANES 1999–2000 involving individuals above revealed that out participants, 1,842 tested positive for via serology. Multivariate unveiled significant inverse correlation Adjusted odds ratios (ORs) quartiles Q2 (13.31–19.26 mg/d), Q3 (19.27–27.42 Q4 (>27.42 mg/d) compared Q1 (<13.31 0.83 (95% CI: 0.69–1.01), 0.74 0.61–0.90), 0.66 0.54–0.81), respectively. Moreover, nonlinear L-shaped (P = 0.022) emerged indicating minimal risk infection at approximately 44.69 mg per day diet. Conclusion suggests link increased reduced prevalence is bolstered by plausible mechanisms immunomodulatory function, mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular oxidative stress.
