Zinc oxide (ZnO) and iron (IO) nanoparticles have been identified as promising candidates for biomedical applications, based on their unique physicochemical properties. The association of these in a single system creates bimodal entity, allowing the excellent luminescent properties ZnO quantum dots to be combined with contrast agent IO magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). present study focuses MRI new poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanocarrier formulation containing NPs different nominal ratios. Microscopic analysis (TEM SEM) reveals circular morphology NPs. average diameter particles was determined 220 nm, measured by DLS. luminescence results indicate that PLGA shows strong emission visible range, high r2 relaxivity 171 mM−1 s−1 at 7T. optimized formulation, exhibiting molar ratio Fe:Zn ranging from 1:10 1:13 (mol:mol), demonstrates superior fluorescence performance, underscoring significance nanoparticle composition applications. systems evaluated demonstrate no toxicity THP-1 cells doses up 128 µg mL−1, efficient labeling after 4 h incubation, yielding images T2 contrast. PLGA:ZnO:IO considerable potential platform diagnostic imaging.
