The land section of the Huangdao end Jiaozhou Bay Second Submarine Tunnel is extensively underlain by Quaternary Loose Accumulation Layer. tunnel passes through a weathered granite fracture zone with well-developed rock joints beneath buildings. excavation process significantly disturbs buildings above, making them prone to settlement, cracking, and tilting. This research conducts numerical simulations three methods, based on results, compares deformation behaviors ground surface under various conditions. findings show that double side-wall guide pit method has better adaptability in controlling settlement building than vertical or curved CD method. Moreover, removal temporary supports affects tilt; this risk can be effectively reduced stress relief ratio during phase tunnel. significance study lies fact choosing an appropriate support scheme, disturbance impact overlying minimized, construction safety stability surrounding guaranteed. results provide initial guidance for constructing shallow-buried tunnels existing

To investigate the excavation characteristics and mechanisms of a deep foundation under lateral confined water pressure, model test was conducted with real-time monitoring stress deformation strut system. The results indicate that in stages 1 3 (the process raising level, O F), rise levels caused diaphragm wall to shift inward. However, reduction earth pressure due inward exceeded increase from raised resulting an overall decrease on wall. During stage 2 supporting process, K1–Z4), as installation progressed, decreased, while both bending moment horizontal displacement increased, most pronounced changes occurring when reached depth aquifer. Upon reaching soil layers within aquifer, axial force struts increased significantly, second level experiencing greatest force. In design, it is essential account for maximum range well vertical 0.50%D–0.83%D outside pit. Due rapid transmission fine sand, delayed clay their low permeability, response

For dynamic machine foundations, it is widely acknowledged that the radiation damping ratio estimated by Lysmer’s analogy method often overestimated, leading to adoption of modifications in design codes across various nations. This study explores underlying reasons for this overestimation, focusing on less recognized impact subsoil modulus variation with depth, particularly Gibson soil. soil, characterized a depth‐dependent modulus, can significantly reduce even homogeneous conditions. The research employs cone model analyze vertical vibration circular disk foundation yielding an analytical solution impedance function. establishes relationship between soil and reduction first time, revealing independent mechanism how varies depth. An extended proposed overcome complexity traditional Hankel transform method. achieves frequency‐independent closed‐form impedance. Results verify has lower than uniform layers, average factor 0.65–0.85. These findings provide theoretical basis revising seismic (GB 50699‐2011) propose new calculation formula considers gradient.
