Abstract Activated carbon (AC) and ZnO@AC composite derived from wood sawdust were prepared to be utilized as adsorbents for methyl red (MR) orange (MO) anionic dyes the aqueous solutions. The maximum adsorption capacity of AC toward both was achieved in strong acidic medium (pH = 3), under stirring 60 min. kinetic studies revealed that MR MO onto fitted well with pseudo-second-order model. Furthermore, intraparticle diffusion Elovich models confirmed is controlled by external surfaces, chemisorption process. isotherm results indicated dye occurred via monolayer adsorption, estimated capacities higher than those AC. Thermodynamic analysis suggested endothermic spontaneous. mechanism MR, proposed electrostatic bonding, π–π interactions, ion exchange, while H-bonding n–π interactions minor contributors. This study reveals potential use carbon-based removal wastewater.

Polluted water containing synthetic dyes from industries of various sectors is a serious hazard to human health as well the rest flora and fauna in environment. It has be treated by efficient yet cost-effective methods such adsorption pollutant dyes. This review summarizes successful one hazardous dye, methylene blue, using polymeric hydrogel nanocomposites adsorbents. These have been proven more active adsorbing than mere parent polymers or pure nanoparticles, seen most cases. effect may contribution high capacities result proposed mechanisms, synergistic enhancement desired characters its components, significance optimum sorption conditions influencing dye onto nanocomposite adsorbent. The porous nature polymer activity nanofillers are potential cause for this research. Not only novel adsorbents remediation pollution but also green approach due spontaneity process without consumption external energy addition being recyclable non-toxic.

Abstract In this research nylon fibers wastes (NF) were fabricated into porous sheet using a phase inversion technique to be utilized as an adsorbent materials for Congo red dye (CR). The denoted NS was characterized FTIR and XRD. surface studies of the SEM BET analysis reveals highly pores structure with average pore volume 0.61 cc/g area 767 m 2 /g. adsorption employed CR at different parameters pH, effect time concentration. isotherm kinetic more fit Langmuir pseudo second order models. maximum capacity q max reached 188 mg/g removal percentage 95 concentration 400 mg/L pH 6 0.025 g dose 10 ml solution. regeneration study prominent behavior % 88.6 (300 mg/L) after four desorption cycles. Effect incorporation NaonFil Clay studied Response Surface Methodology (RSM) modeling that 98.4% could achieved by 19.35% wt. fiber 8.2 g/L zero clay, thus predetermined NanoFil clay embedded NS, there are no significant %R CR.
