ABSTRACT The growing interest for eco‐friendly nanomaterials has driven the search cost‐effective synthesis methods, with zirconium dioxide nanoparticles (ZrO 2 ‐NPs) gaining their photocatalytic and antibacterial properties. ambitions of this study are to synthesize ZrO ‐NPs by use lichen extract evaluate performance in pollutant degradation antimicrobial activity. had been characterized UV–Vis spectroscopy, which confirms formation an absorption peak at 234 nm, same time as FTIR evaluation diagnosed functional groups responsible stabilization. XRD discovered crystalline nature, FESEM images showed spherical morphology, EDX spectroscopy verified elemental composition. Photocatalytic experiments underneath sunlight proved efficient Malachite Green (84%) Phenol Red (75.5%). Antibacterial studies confirmed good activity toward Staphylococcus aureus (18 mm zone inhibition), while Escherichia coli exhibited low sensitivity (9 area inhibition). These findings spotlight capacity green‐synthesized wastewater treatment programs.
