Nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is an important transcription that activates antioxidant genes and increases detoxifying enzymes. Studies have shown dietary compounds can activate the Nrf2 expression improve response in patients with exacerbated oxidative stress, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD). We aimed to evaluate efficacy of nutritional interventions on phase II enzymes clinical trials CKD. searched PubMed, Lilacs, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library databases published tool was used for quality assessment studies included. reported this review according PRISMA it registered PROSPERO (42023389619). Thirty-nine were included review; nine evaluated three showed increase its expression. Twenty-three found enzyme levels, including superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase. Moreover, a high risk bias most heterogeneity designs, type, duration supplementation administered. These results suggest supplementations promising effect response, however, recommended further should be carried out.

This comprehensive review examines the impact of dietary patterns on gut microbiome composition and diversity from infancy to old age, linking these changes age-related health outcomes. It investigates how develops across life stages, focusing influence factors. The explores early-life feeding practices, including breastfeeding formula feeding, shape infant microbiota have lasting effects. In elderly individuals, alterations in are associated with increased susceptibility infections, chronic inflammation, metabolic disorders cognitive decline. critical role diet modulating throughout is emphasised, particularly potential benefits probiotics fortified foods promoting healthy ageing. By elucidating mechanisms connecting food systems health, this provides insights into interventions that could enhance resilience improve outcomes lifespan.

Genetic predisposition accounts for less than 20% of the global disease burden, highlighting substantial role environmental factors in health outcomes. In chronic kidney (CKD), a growing prevalence, understanding interplay between genes and environment is crucial. Emerging research exposome genome underscores how exposures interact with genetic variants to influence development progression CKD. The term "exposome" encompasses variety factors, including personal behaviors like smoking, sedentary lifestyle, making specific dietary choices (such as consuming ultra-processed foods, sugar, or fat). It also includes broader determinants such pesticides, air, water, soil pollution, nanoplastics, warming, stressful life events, socioeconomic status. Research on significantly increases our toxicological processes individual variations susceptibility stressors. This narrative review aims explore associated CKD, highlight key its development, discuss potential preventive therapeutic strategies informed by these exposure-related factors.
