Artificial intelligence (AI) has been extensively researched in medicine, but its practical application remains limited. Meanwhile, there are various disparities existing AI-enabled clinical studies, which pose a challenge to global health equity. In this study, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the geo-economic distribution 159 as well gender among these studies. We aim reveal from literature perspective, thus highlighting need for equitable access medical AI technologies.

Background: Microalgae like Phaeodactylum tricornutum (PT) contain the carotenoid, fucoxanthin, which has been purported to promote fat loss, lower blood lipids, and improve glucose management. This study examined whether dietary supplementation with microalgae extracts from PT containing 4.4 mg/d of fucoxanthin affects changes in body composition or health markers overweight women during an exercise diet intervention. Materials Methods: A total 37 females (28.6 ± 7.9 years, 80.2 14.9 kg, 29.6 3.8 kg/m², 41.4 4.2% fat) fasted for 12 h, donated a fasting sample, completed mood state inventories, undertook composition, health, assessments. In counterbalanced, randomized, double-blind manner, participants ingested placebo (PL), extract standardized mg (FX) weeks while participating supervised program that included resistance-training walking (3 days/week) encouragement accumulate 10,000 steps/day on remaining days week. The intervention involved reducing energy intake by about −300 kcal/d (i.e., ≈1400–1600 kcals/d, 55% carbohydrate, 30% fat, 15% protein) −500 deficit exercise. Follow-up testing was performed at 6 weeks. general linear model (GLM) repeated measures statistical analysis used analyze group responses baseline 95% confidence intervals. Results: Dietary did not additional weight loss but otherwise healthy initiating designed modest loss. However, preserved bone mass, increased density, saw greater improvements steps/day, resting heart rate, aerobic capacity, lipid profiles, adherence goals, functional activity tolerance, quality life. Consequently, there appears be some benefit supplementing program. Registered clinical trial #NCT04761406.

Abstract Background Considering differences in body composition and inflammatory status between sexes, as well recent recommendations advocating for personalized dietary approaches, this study aimed to explore how sex influences weight loss, changes composition, subjects with grade I II obesity undergoing a 45-day of the Very Low-Energy Ketogenic Therapy (VLEKT). Methods Participants (21 premenopausal females 21 males), included adhered VLEKT underwent assessments anthropometric parameters (weight, height, mass index—BMI –, waist circumference), via bioelectrical impedance analysis, measured by high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels at baseline post-intervention. Results At baseline, males did not differ BMI ( p = 0.100) hs-CRP 0.948). Males demonstrated overall larger benefits than from terms loss (Δ% − 11.63 ± 1.76 vs 8.95 1.65 kg, < 0.001), fat 30.84 12.00 -21.36 4.65 0.002), 41.42 21.35 22.38 17.30 mg/L, 0.003). Of interest, phase angle values are statistically improved compared female 17.11 9.00 7.05 3.30°, 0.001). Conclusion These findings underscore importance considering sex-specific responses treatment strategies, particularly interventions like VLEKTs. Graphical

Objective Analyzing the association between sociodemographic status and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)-related risks in China to reduce disease burden of T2DM. Methods We downloaded data from Global Burden Disease Study 2019 estimate T2DM China. Secondary analyses were performed by year, age, gender, summary exposure value (SEV), index (SDI). Results In China, it is estimated that 3.74 (3.44–4.10) million incidence, 90.0 (82.3–98.5) prevalence, 168.4 (143.2–194.0) thousand deaths, 9.6 (7.6–11.9) DALYs occurred 2019, showing an increase 96.8, 156.7, 162.8, 145.4% compared 1990. An inverse U-shaped curve was observed for correlations T2DM-related SDI. A heavier found males. The top four risk factors high body mass (HBMI), dietary risks, air pollution tobacco. HBMI, as key risk, accounted half Lower degree SEV higher level attributable could be main meaning their critical role them development progression age-standardized mortality, rate, Conclusion has rapidly increased Gender disparities, different age distributions inconsistent socioeconomic levels all played important it. HBMI. With improvement level, have changed environmental lifestyle factors. Targeted control preventative strategies address adjustable put end this soaring burden.
