Abstract The aquaculture industry is rapidly developing, generating a high amount of wastewater. Inland effluents contain nutrients and other substances that can cause eutrophication the emergence resistive organisms if released into environment. Hence, wastewater should be treated appropriately for reuse in different applications or safely environment, promoting sustainable circular economy. current review provides insight generation, constituents, treatment through various technologies.
