Abstract Purpose Steatotic liver diseases (SLD) have become more prevalent over the last decade and are associated not only with cardiometabolic but also psychological symptoms (depression, fatigue). These common in post-COVID syndrome (PCS). Therefore, aim of study was to analyze burden SLD PCS patients. Methods We systematically screened all patients from our outpatient clinic using transient elastography, structured questionnaires for neurocognitive evaluation blood sample analysis. Controls without known were recruited assessed same approach. Results 560 103 healthy controls included. The overall prevalence high both cohorts (57 vs. 53%). frequently male (41 24%), older (52 44 years) had (87.0 46.4%). Cognitive impairment related than no-SLD group (OR: 1.68, CI: 1.14–2.46, p = 0.008). presence severe COVID-19 hospitalization 2.91, 1.85–4.56, < 0.001). Within 1 year follow-up, 152 289 described a resolution irrespective or absence (log-rank 0.96). Conclusions is cognitive dysfunction PCS. Longitudinal studies needed assess role hepatic steatosis, development post-acute infection regulation (e.g., SARS-CoV-2) differentiate between SLD-associated

Following mental or physical exertion, patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) experience Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM). Although self-report questions represent less expensive and invasive procedures to assess PEM, variability in the wording of symptom can cause reliability validity problems. If different PEM measures are used studies, this could create difficulties replicating findings, identifying biomarkers, determining effective treatments for patients. The objective article is describe challenges opportunities DePaul Symptom Questionnaires (DSQ) specific. five DSQ items identify 97% ME/CFS. A brief DSQ-PEM instrument has now been constructed that consists supplementary such as duration how quickly would recover from activities. more comprehensive called Questionnaire assesses a list triggers length recovery time PEM. In article, we show DSQ’s provide clues ME/CFS pathophysiology well these be outcome measures. Future research should focus on contrasting comparing ways eliciting assessing relationships between questionnaires examining impact treatment trials

Impaired left and right ventricular (LV/RV) function during acute SARS-CoV-2 infection has been predominantly reported in hospitalized patients, but long-term cardiac sequelae large, well-characterized cohorts remain inconclusive. This study evaluated structure individuals with post-Coronavirus disease (COVID) syndrome (PCS) compared to recovered controls (CON), focusing on associations cardiopulmonary symptoms rapid physical exhaustion (RPE). multicenter, population-based included 1154 participants (679 PCS, 475 age- sex matched CON; mean age 49 ± 12 years; 760 women) 1.5 years post-infection. Transthoracic echocardiography assessed LV global longitudinal strain (GLS), RV GLS free wall (FWS), other measures. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) measured maximum respiratory oxygen uptake (VO2max) as a marker of fitness. PCS exhibited significantly lower (-20.25% [-21.28 - -19.22] vs. -20.73% [-21.74 -19.72], p = 0.003), reduced diastolic (E/A 1.16 [1.04-1.27] 1.21 [1.1-1.32], 0.022) decreased TAPSE (24.45 mm [22.14-26.77] 25.05 [22.78-27.32], CON, even after adjusting for confounders. values were similar between groups. correlated inversely VO2max (p 0.004) positively RPE 0.050), though no observed symptoms. demonstrates subtle yet consistent reductions function, specifically capacity CON. While these changes are within reference ranges, their potential impact clinical outcomes warrants further investigation. These findings highlight the need assessments follow-up symptomatic patients.

Background: Post COVID-19 Condition is a recently recognized syndrome characterized by the persistence of various symptoms, including dyspnea, physical and mental fatigue, post-exertional malaise. Currently, there no established treatment or clear consensus on effectiveness rehabilitation, given that patients could benefit from home-based telerehabilitation, defined as remote rehabilitation using telematic systems, may be an option to reach more population with persistent symptoms. Therefore, it necessary show efficacy this approach benefits multimodal strategy in these patients. Methods: Patients underwent home 12-week synchronous telerehabilitation system. The intervention included therapeutic education respiratory rehabilitation. following variables were analyzed: Fatigue, quality life, strength, aerobic capacity, upper lower limb strength. Conclusions: After 12 weeks, significant improvements found However, improvement was dyspnea scores, which did not correlate Interestingly, post-intervention correlation emerged between distance covered capacity perceived suggesting asynchronous viable for

Background/Objectives: Long COVID specialized outpatient clinics (sOCs), which are part of the recommended long care, usually face high demand. Few studies focused on experience care in such facilities Germany. This study investigated how patients a sOC at German university hospital. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with attending this clinic between October 2022 and January 2023. Data analysis was based thematic analysis. Results: The themes from 14 (F = 11, M 3) could be broadly categorized into statements pathway to sOC, provided sOC. Findings show that patients' expectations appointment shaped by previous experiences mainly perceived as inadequate. Care predominantly competent, empathetic relevant for further coping disease. A deterioration health directly related consultation (classifiable post-exertional malaise) frequently described, need ongoing consultation. Conclusions: Overall, findings point adaptations identifying optimized models tailoring them limited resources. includes measures improve outside
