Purpose: To describe the correlative relationship between fundus vascular characteristics and severity of coronary artery stenosis. Patients Methods: A total 1447 patients scheduled for hospitalization at Beijing Anzhen Hospital Union angiography to assess conditions February 2022 December were selected. Of these, 1418 cases ultimately obtained, with 29 excluded due failure complete or photography. Severity stenosis was assessed using Gensini score. Fundus images obtained via non-dilated photography, retinal arteriovenous diameters, ratios, curvatures, dimensions subsequently measured automatically a computer program. Results: Pearson's correlation coefficients Score found be as follows: The diameters superior temporal (− 0.08), vein 0.03), diameter ratio 0.10), arterial dimension 0.09), 0.06), curvature 0.01). area under curve (AUC) logistic regression modeling binarized (dichotomized into two categories based on cutoff 4 points) dependent variable independent 0.59 ± 0.05 (95% CI). AUC combination clinical information (sex, age, height, weight, smoking history, creatinine, cholesterol, fasting blood glucose) yielded an 0.71 0.07 Conclusion: Coronary is inversely correlated characteristics. limited amount data may serve non-invasive tool predicting presence absence severe in arteries. Background: Vessel segmentation is a critical aspect of medical image processing, often involving vessel enhancement as preprocessing step. Existing methods based on eigenvalues Hessian matrix face challenges such inconsistent parameter settings and suboptimal effects across different datasets. Objective: This paper aims to introduce novel algorithm that overcomes the limitations traditional by leveraging multilayer perceptron fit filter function using matrix. The primary goal simplify tuning while enhancing effectiveness generalizability enhancement. Methods: proposed utilizes input for training perceptron-based function. diameter largest blood in dataset only be set. Results: Experiments were conducted public datasets DRIVE, STARE, IRCAD. Additionally, optimal acquisition Frangi Jerman filters are introduced quantitatively compared with approach. Performance metrics AUROC, AUPRC, DSC show outperforms features. Conclusion: findings this study highlight superiority comparison methods. By simplifying settings, improving effects, showcasing superior performance metrics, offers promising solution parts analysis applications.

Summary Given how the diagnosis and management of many ocular and, most specifically, retinal diseases heavily rely on various imaging modalities, introduction artificial intelligence (AI) into this field has been a logical, inevitable, successful development in recent decades. The practically become showcase for use AI medicine. In article, after providing short overview relevant their socioeconomic impact, we highlight aspects can be applied research, diagnosis, disease is expected to alter patient flows, affecting also health care professionals beyond ophthalmologists.

Background and Objectives: Screening, primary prevention, the early identification of high-risk individuals are crucial for minimising burden cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). In this study, we aimed to evaluate association retinal microvascular features with myocardial dysfunction CVD risk factors in a group patients significant coronary artery disease (CAD) compared newly diagnosed isolated arterial hypertension healthy controls. Materials Methods: We performed single-centre cross-sectional study on 214 divided into three groups: 99 cases CAD, 61 hypertension, control 54 no confirmed pathology. Colour optic disc-centred photographs were taken all cases, following parameters quantified using MONA REVA 3.0.0 software (VITO Health, Mol, Belgium): central arteriolar equivalent, venular arteriovenous ratio, fractal dimension, tortuosity index, lacunarity. Univariable multivariable statistical analyses assess changes CVD. Results: Dyslipidaemia (p = 0.009), systolic blood pressure 0.008), LDL cholesterol 0.003) negatively associated while left ventricular (LV) strain (0.043) was positively CRAE. case CRVE, Agatston score 0.016) proved positive HDL 0.018) negative association. Given the similarities between retinal and coronary microvasculature, retina holds promising potential to serve as a non-invasive screening tool for artery disease (CAD). We aimed develop novel inner ellipse-based metrics discern whether foveal avascular zone (FAZ) alterations can indicators CAD presence severity.
