Social media addiction (SMA) and internet (IA) are increasingly prevalent, impacting mental health (MH) globally. This study investigates the mediating roles of mindfulness social capital (SC) in relationship between SMA, IA, MH among Ethiopian high school university students, contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 good well-being. A cross-sectional was conducted with 1160 1473 students Dessie, Ethiopia. Participants completed validated questionnaires assessing mindfulness, SC, MH. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) a multi- mediation Model (SMM) used examine hypothesized relationships. SEM revealed that both SMA IA had direct negative effect on students. Notably, SC significantly positively predicted MH, indicating their protective role against effects IA. This study explores the intricate relationship between social media usage and mental health of young individuals by leveraging insights 492 UK school headteachers. It adopts a novel multidisciplinary approach, integrating perspectives from psychology, sociology, education studies, political science, philosophy, linguistics, work, anthropology, sciences. The application thematic analysis, powered ChatGPT-4, identifies predominantly negative perspective on impact people, focusing key themes across various disciplines, including health, identity formation, interaction comparison, bullying, digital literacy, governance policies. Balancing adolescents' growing desire for independence with the establishment of effective media-related rules presents a complex challenge many parents. Our study, utilising diverse nationwide sample 1,480 adolescents aged 13-17, investigates how perceptions rule restrictiveness might explain relationship between parental strategies and overuse media. Indicators include dysregulated media engagement, interference use other activities, physical symptoms. Structural equation modelling reveals that higher number more frequent enforcement are associated increased among adolescents. However, tend to view as reasonable when parents consistently adhere these themselves, particularly in situations numerous strict enforcement. Notably, curvilinear emerges indicators. Adolescents who perceive reasonable, rather than overly restrictive or lenient, report lower levels findings highlight importance establishing expectations balanced, they themselves committed following.
