Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated disease characterized by inflammation, demyelination, and neurodegeneration within the central nervous system. Brain plasticity, brain’s ability to adapt its structure function, plays a crucial role in mitigating MS’s impact. This paper explores potential benefits of lifestyle changes nutraceuticals on brain plasticity MS population. Lifestyle modifications, including physical activity dietary adjustments, can enhance upregulating neurotrophic factors, promoting synaptogenesis, reducing oxidative stress. Nutraceuticals, such as vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants like alpha lipoic acid, have shown promise supporting health through anti-inflammatory neuroprotective mechanisms. Regular has been linked increased levels brain-derived factor improved cognitive function. Dietary interventions, caloric restriction intake polyphenols, also positively influence plasticity. Integrating these into management provide complementary approach traditional therapies, potentially improving neurological outcomes enhancing quality life for

Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD) is a set of heterogeneous problems, which may arise during the administration selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and persist after their discontinuation. PSSD rare clinical entity, it commonly associated with non-sexual concerns, including emotional cognitive problems poor quality life. To date, however, no effective treatment available. The aim this study was to retrospectively evaluate potential efficacy different treatments used in practice improving male PSSD. Of 30 patients referred our neurobehavioral outpatient clinic from January 2020 December 2021, 13 Caucasian (mean age 29.53 ± 4.57 years), previously treated SSRIs, were included study. Patients major depressive disorder and/or psychotic symptoms excluded priori avoid overlapping symptomatology, potentially reduce misdiagnosis rate. treat PSSD, we decided use drugs positively affecting brain dopamine/serotonin ratio, such as bupropion vortioxetine, well other compounds. This latter drug known not cause or reverse iatrogenic SD. Most patients, vortioxetine nutraceuticals, reported significant improvement all International Index Erectile Function-(IIEF-5) domains (p < 0.05) baseline (T0) 12-month follow-up (T1). Moreover, only patient pelvic muscle vibration reached very positive results. Although data come retrospective open-label small sample size, modulating central nervous system serotonin/dopamine could be improve Large-sample prospective cohort studies randomized trials are needed investigate real prevalence entity confirm promising approach debilitating illness.

Curcumin, from the rhizome of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), has a wide variety biological activities. Unfortunately, its poor water-solubility greatly limits bioavailability. The purpose this study was to evaluate CUMINUP60®, novel preparation utilizing solvent-free, co-grinding method designed improve curcumin's We performed single-center crossover experiment compare new product with standard 95% curcumin in blood plasma twelve healthy adults (10 males, 2 females). Total bioavailability and sulfate glucuronide conjugates test product, measured by their areas under curve over 12 h (AUC0-T), showed combined increase 178-fold reference product. represents significant improvement for providing greater curcumin, as compared several other branded preparations. It therefore broad applications preparing more effective health ingredient functional foods, beverages, nutraceuticals.

Diverse chemical messengers are responsible for maintaining homeostasis in the human body, example, hormones and neurotransmitters. Various Hawaiian plant species produce compounds that exert effects on these systems of which they a part. The main purpose this review article is to evaluate potential plants reducing pain anxiety improving sleep mood. A comprehensive literature search was conducted SciFinder, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar, Scientific Information Database between 2019 2023 identify related articles. Results indicate several species, such as M. citrifolia P. methysticum, have medicinal properties associated with effects. These been used traditional cultural practices centuries, suggesting their benefit health well-being. This presents analysis available evidence concerning impacts sleep, anxiety, mood, pain.

Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) are drugs that enhance cholinergic neuro-transmission and used for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease myasthenia gravis. Common AChEIs include rivastigmine, donepezil galantamine (GAL), but they can cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, depression bradycardia. A potential link exists between increased risk. Recently, we have discovered a hybrid compound (4b) combining GAL curcumin (CCN), which shows improved anticholinesterase activity neuroprotective effects. It could be developed as multitarget agent neurodegenerative disorders. Here, examine compound’s depressant effect on mice, comparing it to CCN. Tests were conducted twice using tail suspension test (TST) forced swim over an 8-day period. The results showed 4b lacked even displayed mild antidepressant similar CCN in TST. This suggests incorporating fragments, CCN, into potentially neutralize their depressive
