The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lifestyle, sleep and physical activity habits. This study evaluated the prevalence of poor quality, its disrupters, impact in collegiate athletes. We performed a cross-sectional athletes (N = 339, median age: 20 (IQR,19−21) years old, 48.5% female, 47% individual sports) who received web-based questionnaire April 2021. survey included subject characteristics, chronotype, changes due to quality (Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index [PSQI]). A multivariate linear regression was assess relationship between gender, disrupters training volume or sleep. Results showed disrupted 63.7%. One five students had total time under 6.5 h per night. Poor significantly correlated with nocturnal concerns related pandemic, evening female third year study, caffeine consumption lack routine (all p < 0.05). To conclude, is common remain prevalent lifestyle habits this population may have been exacerbated by pandemic. hygiene should become major aspect sports education during return post-covid normality.

Objective: To investigate the effect of 1) lockdown duration and 2) training intensity on sleep quality insomnia symptoms in elite athletes. Methods: 1,454 athletes (24.1 ± 6.7 years; 42% female; 41% individual sports) from 40 countries answered a retrospective, cross-sectional, web-based questionnaire relating to their behavioral habits pre- during- COVID-19 lockdown, including: Pittsburgh index (PSQI); Insomnia severity (ISI); bespoke questions about 3) napping; 4) behaviors. The association between dependent (PSQI ISI) independent variables (sleep, napping behaviors) was determined with multiple regression is reported as semi-partial correlation coefficient squared (in percentage). Results: 15% sample spent < 1 month, 27% 1-2 months 58% > 2 lockdown. 29% self-reported maintaining same during-lockdown whilst 71% reduced intensity. PSQI (4.1 2.4 5.8 3.1; mean difference (MD): 1.7; 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 1.6-1.9) ISI (5.1 4.7 7.7 6.4; MD: 2.6; CI: 2.3-2.9) scores were higher during-compared pre-lockdown, associated (all p 0.001) longer onset latency (PSQI: 28%; ISI: 23%), later bedtime 13%; 14%) preferred time day train 9%; 5%) during-lockdown. Those who showed (p 0.001; 1.25; 0.87-1.63) 2.5; 1.72-3.27) compared those maintained Although score not affected by duration, confined month 1.28; 0.26-2.3). Conclusion: Reducing during COVID-19-induced lower Lockdown had further disrupting effects athletes' behavior. These findings could be relevance future or lockdown-like situations (e.g., prolonged illness, injury, quarantine after international travel).

Objective: The COVID-19 lockdown periods have given rise to the “Dysregulation of Mood, Energy, and Social Rhythms Syndrome” (DYMERS). This syndrome is characterized by a poor regulation biological, social, behavioral rhythms, including sleep, nutrition, social contacts. purpose this cohort study was examine whether older adults with pre-existing DYMERS had more negative perception their health-related quality life (H-QoL) during pandemic lockdown, regardless presence concurrent mood disorders. Method: entire population (N = 93; age > 65 year) categorized based on they exhibited dysregulated rhythms at outset study. A comparison made between DYMERS-positive individuals DYMERS-negative individuals, we assessed H-QoL conclusion We also compared in who did not positive depression score understand impact rhythm dysregulation alone. Results: frequency critical (SF12 < 25) higher (33.33% vs. 6.17%). difference remained significant even when only without depressive symptomatology were considered (27.27% 2.60%). Conclusion: results indicate that can exert substantial influence (H-QoL), disturbances are present. Additional research required investigate relationship other psychiatric conditions as well its nature standalone disorder.

Objective Disrupted sleep and training behaviors in athletes have been reported during the COVID-19 pandemic. We aimed at investigating combined effects of Ramadan observance related lockdown Muslim athletes. Methods From an international sample ( n = 3,911), 1,681 (from 44 countries; 25.1 ± 8.7 years, 38% females, 41% elite, 51% team sport athletes) answered a retrospective, cross-sectional questionnaire relating to their behavioral habits pre- during- lockdown, including: i ) Pittsburgh quality index (PSQI); ii insomnia severity (ISI); iii bespoke questions about training, napping, eating behaviors, iv during-lockdown compared outside Ramadan. The survey was disseminated predominately through social media, opening 8 July closing 30 September 2020. Results reduced increased (both p < 0.001). Therefore, further attention is warranted when circadian disrupter (e.g., lockdown) occurs

Given the high prevalence of sleep disorders (e.g. insomnia) among long-COVID-19 patients (LC19Ps), approaches to tackle these should not only depend on specialists, but they also involve general practitioners (GPs). Indeed, according World Health Organization, GPs be front line in management LC19Ps. However, real practice, little data with regard LC19Ps are available for GPs, which represents an embarrassing situation. Thus, main aim this correspondence was provide some advice related The pieces presented to: i) Early and accurate recognition disorders, ii) General recommendations manage encouraging vaccination against virus); iii) Specific recommendations, such as improving hygiene (patients' behavior diet), psychological or behavioral therapies (stimulus control therapy, relaxation, restriction), promising tools (heart coherence, neurofeedback), pharmacological treatment. authors deeply believe that given undesirable side effects associated use hypnotics, approach must a "last resort". important percentage prescriptions could avoided if more focus is put educating deal disorders. indispensable resume normal life promote their mental health recovery.

Traditional athlete training data classification and prediction models have low accuracy, poor processing of high-dimensional data, weak dynamic adaptability. Before applying the ARIMA model for prediction, first step is to use an automated acquisition system connect sports devices, collect clean in real time, securely store backup it on a central server. The second preprocess collected divide into test sets ensure accuracy generalization ability model. third conduct time-series analysis identify time-dependent seasonal components data. fourth involves fitting through differential analysis, stationarity testing, parameter optimization, residual rolling forecasting, ensemble learning, predicting classifying so as improve robustness experimental results show that using highest, all exceeding 92%, average 2%–16.7% higher than other models. Moreover, errors are below 1.0%. In summary, application highly reliable.
